My name is Renee and I first came to the AI message boards, back in 2001, when I was first diagnosed with RA.  I found a lot of useful information and was even able to chat (they had a chat room back then) with other RA sufferers.  After a year or so, I stopped coming to this site.  A couple of weeks ago, I had a question about a medication, so I came back and have been checking in ever since.  I was given some excellent advice, concerning my medication and I am very grateful to those of you who helped me out.

Now to the tricky part.  Since I've been back, I've noticed a lot of fighting and the use of foul language.  I must say that I was quite shocked to see how much it has changed.  It is my understanding that the RA message boards are for people, with RA, to ask questions, share information/experiences, and support each other.  It's also a place for a joke or an inpirational message because we all need a pick up, from time to time.  When and why did it change?  I think if everyone would use the boards as they are intended to be used, there wouldn't be all the fighting.  For example:  Everyone is all upset over Jan's suicidal post.  What does her post, about being inconvenienced, have to do with RA?  Since it had absolutley nothing to do with RA, she shouldn't have posted it at all.  If she hadn't posted it, we wouldn't have had people fighting back and forth.  This is an arthritis website and should only be used for arthritis related topics.  If you want to complain about your train delays, go somewhere else and do it.  There are plenty of other sites out there, that might actually care.

If all this fighting continues, it's going to scare away the new people who are searching for support and answers for their RA.  I understand that I'm probably going to get a lot of attacks for writing this, but something had to be said.  We all have this terrible disease, so we should help each other and stop all the fighting.  Haven't we all got enough pain in our lives already?

here's part of the problem, renee...

these trolls don't care if the good people are scared away... and this being a public board.. there really isn't anything we can do about it...

except.... ignore...... do not give them any attentions...... ignore...... ignore.......ignore.

oh, and lorster claims she gets paid Renee
A lot of members post OT (Off Topic) threads here and a lot of topics are not about RA at all so Jan was doing what a lot of others do, relaying her day to us. Nothing wrong in that. Some people didnt agree with her which is their rights but they also took it upon themselves to bearrate Jan for her feelings. This in turn starts the arguements...There are two different sets of rules on this board .One  set for one group and one for the other group

Sorry I would have  PM'd you this reply but apparently I send horrible PM's so this is out in the open.

first of all.... she's talking about the cursing trolls....pin.

secondly......  to reply to your comments...  we are all entitled to our opinions.. and entitled to post them when and as we choose....
