I am sitting on our new lazyboy loveseat recliner.  We went for one of those no interest, no payment deals

I got nervous today.  I thought I was starting to flare.  My arm muscles and shoulders started hurting bad.  A storm was coming in and it stopped me in my tracks.  I took a painkiller and went to bed all afternoon.  Now I just think it was weaning from the pred and the weather.  Whew.  I feel much better this evening.  Do you guys ever get pain in your upper arms.  That is where my ra started and that is why my gp did not think it was ra, it was in the muscles rather than the joints.  I still get pain there, my upper arms, like someone punched me there

Now I am just rambling.  Brett went out for a meeting and I just had to try my laptop out reclining on this loveseat.  no interest, no payments for six months, now could you resist???????????

I wish I Had a new loveseat!!   My doggie chewed up mine.

it's frikkin COLD outside, and i wish I could cuddle with my hubby and watch the tube.  But, alas, I must sleeep.  Or try.   Seems that i spend 10 hours in bed, tossing and turning - to try to get 4 hours of sleep.

NO SUPERBOWL IN THIS HOUSE TOdAY!  We will NOT be having hot wings and beer for dinner............. and I dont even CARE who's in it.  hee hee heeeee

have a good day everyone!

May you win your superbowl bets.........

RA truly WORE OUT my old recliner.  I was in my recliner so much and I would get so bored and lonesome I would let my weimeraner jump on my lap.  Tyler dog weighs 65 pounds.  He broke the foot rest.  Tyler is not allowed on this one but my little yorkie/Chico  is up here with me.

I am trying to talk hubby into waiting a couple days before we go back up to the mountains in the snow.  BRRRRRRRR.  These are my lapdogs

My hubby is laid off right now.  He works for the railroad and his machine is down.  I LOVE having him home  but he has to be doing something ALL THE TIME.  It is a gorgeous day so a great day for climbing a hill

roxy38753.408912037 To Roxie and all others,
My RA is in my feet and ankles. The Doctor put me on methatrexate with folic acid last June and it has helped. I have days where it is hard to move and putting my shoes on is very hard.
I can't wear my pretty shoes anymore, as they don't support my foot. I'm wearing monster shoes now.
Roxie, nice pictures of the dogs and I see a couple of cat condos to.
I have two cats and they like to get up on my lap. It has been diffcult as I've had my hand and thumb in a cast for several weeks. (osteoarthritis w/ carpal tunnel ) I'm now in therapy to regain the use of the thumb and flexibilty of the wrist. In two weeks I'm having surgery on my shoulder to repair the damage done by wear and tear. So it's back to my sling which is so much fun to wear.
I know what you mean when the weather changes. My hip and knees will play their own tune to the god of weather changes. I just reach for the Advil and Zantac to calm the tune down. Then it's the heating pad and electric blanket time.
Well, I have to go and thanks for letting me do a little venting.

Marisa,  Glad you came over.  I have had feet problems for years and I am an avid hiker.  I have hiking shoes specially made but in between times I love Birkenstocks in the summer and UGHS in the winter.  Most comfy shoes I have found for my crippled up toes.  My little toe goes all the way under the next one so I put sheep skin between the two and the rest of the toes are all pointing in different directions

In some ways I am lucky.  I have only had a few flares in my hands and wrists.  That experience definitely showed me a small percent of the frustration that you must be having.  I do get arm and shoulder flares where it is difficult to dress and brush my teeth and hair. I just got out of a sling.  Hips and Knees, that is where my ra screams even though it has been under control the last few weeks.  I am glad you have discovered the wonders of the electric blanket.  It is the best painkiller I have and didn't even need a rx for it.

It sounds like you are still in a lot of pain.  Have you talked to your doctor (is it a rheumatologist) about being put on one of the biologics.  Enbrel has changed my life and it is still improving.  I have only been on it for almost seven weeks but have been on it twice before.  My immune system is weak and I keep getting infections.  In fact, I am down today with a cold and ear ache.  That is not typical from what I have heard from others on the board.  I think I just had a lot of stress that made me vulnerable.  Anyway, I am curious what your plans are for better pain control.

Vent all you want, that is the purpose of these support boards.  This is a good one with a lot of good people who are probably mostly watching the Super Bowl right now

Take care.  Rox
