Hey everyone. Janie I have been meaning to update you all on where I am at. I am actually good, very good.

I haven't been on much as it seems I have either been in pain and asleep or busy.

This year so far has brought a lot of change and healing for both Neve and I.

Since December last year, physically I have been a nightmare RA wise - pain/swelling/stiffness and fatigue have all been hitting hard. I have gotten through with some quick 5-7 days Pred doses and a ton of acceptance. It's not been easy.

Yet, regardless of that, life has been moving and changing.

For so long, as many of you know, I walked in the dark tunnel of RA with much light or hope at all. Now I have light and I had my 4th round of RituxanHey everyone. Janie I have been meaning to update you all on where I am at. I am actually good, very good.

This year so far has brought a lot of change and healing for both Neve and I.

Since December last year, physically I have been a nightmare RA wise - pain/swelling/stiffness and fatigue have all been  at the beginning of May. I'm not in that place any longer.

What I have noticed is that with my RA so severe for the past 7 months, I am now mentally and emotionally coping better with the extreme symptoms. I put this largely down to a lot of work I have done with my Pain Management Psychologist.

So despite feeling awful, I have been getting myself out of the house- helping in the classroom for short periods at Neve's school, going to P&T meetings, being on the organising committee for the school fair. Any social thing on...we go to it, whether I am feeling great or not.

Rituxan is a drug that some of us have to have many rounds of to compound upon each other until we start getting a result.

My first round - I kicked in at 9 weeks post infusion. Had 5 good weeks and then flared again.

My second and third rounds did not kick in each until about the 5 month post infusion mark.

This 4th round???

Three weeks post infusion I started to get bursts of energy that could only be Rituxan.

At 5 weeks post infusion my swelling and stiffness reduced considerably and I had about six really good days.

It's a process of a few steps forward and then a couple back but it is definitely working.

I do no longer care how many rounds it takes to take control of my RA. I will just keep going until it does.

On top of all of that, I have a wonderful new man in my life who is keeping me busy and who is very caring and accepting about my RA. He is considerate, thoughtful and respectful. He can equal my intelligence and we have a lot of fun together. It is actually school holidays here and Neve and I are at Ken's place. He has taken a week off so we can spend some time together.

With all that going on, I just have not had much time to be on here posting. I have been flat out just adjusting to the changes going on within me and around me.

I had been meaning to let all of you know that I have been doing well, all in all. I will try to come on and post as much as I can as I really miss helping people.

Hugs to everyone.

Thanks, Janie and Waddie. I have so wanted to update you all and haven't had a minute to spare.

Ken has just been the cherry on top of the already happy me. I've been alone three years and would rather be alone than with the wrong person, so I wasn't even actively looking for a partner when he sideswiped me.

Everyone who even knows part of my RA history, knows how tough this journey has been for me over the past 4 years since I was dxed. I wondered if I'd even hit 'coping'.
This is a nasty, tough disease which can beat the best of us if we let it.
