Still having headaches. Up AGAIN because head hurts. I take aspirin for headaches. Tylenol or ibuprofen has never worked for me with headaches. I am trying to be patient. Just three days ago we went on some wonderful walks for a couple hours and I felt great. Beautiful weather. I have been laying around the last three days, sick of it. We have a special walk planned today. Supposed to get close to 70. WOW. I am going to make me some coffee, maybe the caffeine will help. I am at 4 mg. pred and I am going to stay there until the headaches go away. FRUSTRATING.
Could not take Enbrel this week because I am getting my tooth pulled on Wed. Brett has been moving in all week - FINALLY - We have been married seven months
A lot of good and exciting things going on - if this headache would just go away. Maybe the antibiotics from the dentist will help ?????????? I hope to only be off Enbrel one week. So far so good.
Good morning all. WAKE UP
Well it's about time Brett moved in
Good luck with the tooth tomorrow.
Hi Roxy,
Could the headaches have anything to do with the tooth that is going to be pulled? Maybe that will be the answer. I know when I have problems with my teeth my whole body suffers. I hope your headache goes away soon. They are not fun.

Kelly I will drink a lot of water today. I have been drinking all these mega juices that are also yummy for this cold. I think the cold is almost gone. I am looking forward to my walk and getting the dentist appt. over with. One day at a time. You might be right RozBuds. Anyway, no UNPACKING TODAY HOOOOOOORAY. (We have no place to put more stuffRoxy I have had awful headaches. Where do you get them? I used to take imitrex for migraines and that took them away. I get differrent types. I get migraines with aura and ones without. The ones without are the worse. I call them my face headache.Kel yes water does help some people with head aches. They think it's from dehydration. Fioricet also helps for tention type headaches .I am the QUEEN of headaches. I went to a headache clinic and they said migraines in women are hormonal. The face headaches are better. I'm almost thru menopause. Try anacin if you can take aspirin tylenol and caffiene. Take it as soon as you notice it coming on. Good Luck Pat
Roxy I was reading another post about pred and headaches. Ididn' realize you get them from weaning down. Sounds like that is your problem. How did you get the picture of your dog on you post page? I don't know how to do all of that. I'm lucky I can post
Maybe it's the MAN moving in on your turf! hee hee Just kidding
and WHERE do you live that it's 70 degrees?? it's frikkin freezing here... snowing - just miserable....... good day for a book. Congrats on the man-person moving in! Hope you can find room for all the stuff......... smelling a garage sale in the near future.... Pat, My headaches are right up front. They could also be hormone related as I am on HRT therapy. I had a hysterectomy when I was 40. I use minimal hormones but when I got off them all together my hair fell out in clumps and I told my gp FORGET THAT. So she would rather me not take them - I use the patches - but I do half the lowest dose. May seem like a placebo but no longer losing hair.
Woobie, Northern Calif. My hubby has a place in the mountains and I have a place in the valley. The cold got too hard on me in the mountains so we are moving into my place in the valley and renting his. Go to Smilieland.com and look through animations for graphics. You can select a UBB and copy and paste for animations. Got to imagecave.com and create an album by uploading your pictures on your computer. Then you go up to that icon on the toolbar with the tree and paste the EZCODE "address" in your poste. If you have problems - let me know. Like this
Roxy Thanks for the info. I will try it when I get some time. Hope they leave you alone soon, Take care, Moonie x I SOMETIMES GET HEADACHES FROM MTX, AND ASPIRIN OR IBUPROFEN OR ANY OF THE OTHERS OTC PAIN RELIEVERS DON,T DO A THING FOR ME, EXCEPT FOR EXCEDRIN. IF I TAKE 2 EXCEDRIN AS SOON AS I FEEL THE HEADACHE STARTING, IT USUALLY TAKES CARE OF THE HEADACHE. IF I WAIT TOO LONG AFTER THE HEADACHE STARTS, I SUFFER. DON I have been taking aspirin, but not excedrin as we didn't have that here. I am an Excedrin fan myself. It might be too late to take it. I am thinking maybe sinuses? I have been working around a ton of dust - packing. This headache is like a flare in my head and my face
Thanks Donn. Do not take aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, others), ketoprofen (Orudis KT, Orudis, Oruvail), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn, Anaprox), and others except under the direction of your doctor. Although these medications may be prescribed together to treat certain conditions, methotrexate may interact with aspirin and NSAIDs, and possibly cause serious side effects. Discuss the use of aspirin and NSAIDs with your doctor
Wow....that's a little surprising about that warning. Last week when I was at the RD he asked me if I wanted anything else as far as muscle relaxers and pain and I told him no; what I had was fine as long as Advil was acceptable on a regular basis. He said how much you taking? 800mg 3 times a day? I told him not usually that much....but sometimes. He said that was perfectly fine. Go figure. I can't believe what I'm hearing about MTX and IBU. I take a ton of that stuff as you all know. It's the only thing I'll take during the day. Gracious. Think I should call them? I've been doing it for years. I can't believe what I'm hearing about MTX and IBU. I take a ton of that stuff as you all know. It's the only thing I'll take during the day. Gracious. Think I should call them? I've been doing it for years.
Lovie, when I get my scripts filled for naproxen, I have to sign a paper that says I know I'm taking naproxen with MTX. Makes me wonder too....but I've been prescribed naproxen and mtx for years together. I may ask next appt. But then again, when I'm steadily on humira, I don't take much naproxen. I think I'll ask my phar. myself. I've really gotten to know them. I stand and talk to him and the girls behind the counter for 10 minutes every time I'm in there. I think I'd trust his judgement. Thing is; I think I trust my doctor judgement. Sometime these forums are confusing. We all get such different advise from our doctors. Let me know what yours says Mags. Since my back problems this summer I take a lot more than I have in the past; although I've taken bottles and bottles of the stuff over the year. It honestly is my favorite. In high doses it really does work for me. My doctor last week advised me to take it!! That's what's got me so worried. Surely he realized I've been been buying the economy size bottle for years....and years....and years!! I wonder
From all I can figure out it's ok to take IBU with MTX. The warnings are for much higher doses than we take with RA. I have always taken folic acid w/my mtx...every rd i've had has had me do that...soooooooooo I dunno. I WOULD REALLY BE INTERESTED IN HEARING ALL OF YOUR RD'S OPINIONS ON THE AFFECT OF FOLIC ACID ON MTX, AND HOW DOES THE FOLIC ACID GET RID OF MOUTH SORES ETC. CAUSED BY THE MTX.? JUST WONDERING, DON hey donn My Rd give me folic acid because it stops mouth ulsers etc (sorry i didn't ask why) I don't take it on the day i got MTX cause it increases your blood count and MTX is to reduce it. so one cancels out the other. hope this helps ya. I went about three years without taking it because my side affects were very few and my doctor said I didn't have to take it if I didn't want to. Lord knows I don't want any more pills than I have to have so I just didn't take it. About a year ago I was having all that tingling in my feet....lower legs and hands. He said it could be from lack of Folic Acid in my body. Suggested I try folic acid and see if it helped. It did seem to help. Turned out though that when he checked my folic acid levels it was fine. Who knows!!??
woobie
What should I avoid while taking methotrexate?
Yeah I was told not to take aspirin and if I needed anything for headaches etc. then I was to take tylenol.I take naproxen, have for years and don't have any side effects...that I know of. So that always confused me.
