Hi, Enough!

I suggest you get a refill prescription for the predni as soon as possible.  It's not a good idea to stop taking it suddenly - it's wise to keep some in hand and also carry it with you so that you can take a daily dose even if you are unexpectedly stranded away from home.  Some pharmaceutical companies also provide Cortisone ID cards, a bit like medic alert, so that in an emergency, doctors know what you're taking.

Talk with your doc about reducing the dose gradually or finding a low maintenance dose that relieves your pain.  Hope you're soon feeling better.

Best regards,
C.
Heat will help you.  Use those athletic white tupe socks, fill with rice and leave enough room to tie them at the top.  Warm in microwave.  Hot rice socks placed on shoulders, knees, neck.  Wherever needed feels so good. Thanks for your reply. My doctor had me reduce dosage slowly after the 1st week, and then I was off by the end of the 3rd week. Well, it did not go well after that! I rebounded badly with my PMR, which I guess showed her that what I do have is PMR.  We tried having me take 15mg and taper down, but tapering down left me in more pain. So, now she has me on 20mg, and I am going to have a biopsy done this week to check for GCA, as I have so many symptoms of GCA, but sed-rate and CRP tests don't raise any red flags. (I also have RA and have been taking meds for that for 2 years)  I hope that something is definitive with the biopsy, as my vision is messed up and head pain is daunting some days..........not to mention the neck that feels like it is in a vise.  If the biopsy is positive, I will go up to 60mg Prednisone. If the biopsy in negative, my rheum doctor will decide how to proceed, since there are still so many symptoms of GCA happening.
What a journey this has been.
