Do your knees become very stiff when you stand in one position any longer than 5 mins? Or if you move very little while standing?

My knees become very stiff, I mean like stuck stiff if I am standing without moving for longer than 5 mins. My knees will not bend and when I try to make them bend it is very very painful, it feels like my knee caps are going to go flying when I sit down after they have been stiff or if I try to make them bend to walk. They will do it also get very stiff even when I try to move around a little to try to keep them from getting stiff.

I have to keep walking and not stand still, otherwise... the above happens.

So... standing in lines are out for me. Hi Joonie, yes, my knees hurt if I stand in queues, so does my lower back, hips, pelvis, ankles and feet, so usually I take my scooter now as I need to preserve my energy for other things.  Janie.I can stand or walk and my knees are okay, but sitting for long periods will lock them up and getting up and down a lot (like at work) will make them yell very loudly.  Hugs and good vibes.
my knees hurt if I stand in queues, so does my lower back, hips, pelvis, ankles and feet,  .
That's how I feel.  Actually, my back and hips hurt the very most while standing.
I do not go into any store that does not have carriage or grocery cart.  If I have something to lean on, it helps a lot.  My pride will not let me use a walker and they have some great ones with a seat on them.
Yep, I gel very quickly. If I sit or stand in one position for even a few minutes, I get very stiff and all of my joints ache.oil can, oil can  Standing isn't bad.  I stood for 2.5 hours on Friday cutting up fruit for salad for 125 people.  My back hurt worse than my knees.  If I had set that long and cut up fruit my knees would have rebeled and not moved when I stood up.  They would have been stiff and I would have had to gracefully stand, look around, give them a few minutes to get used to the idea of moving and then move forward rather ungracefully.  Lindy
