Bruise after injection?? | Arthritis Information

 

Any body on the forum is seeing any bruises after the mtx injection by any chance??  i go to doctors place to get mtx injection done.  I started 4 weeks ago.  Never had any bruising first 3 times on the injection spot but now last two times I am seeing a bruise??

I bruise when my anemia of chronic disease is not well controlled. NSAIDS can also increase the chance of bruising with any type of injection.

If this is a concern speak with your physician as well as with whomever administers your MTX injection.

Have you noticed any improvement since beginning MTX as an injection?
Veenu, I bruised with my MTX inj. sometimes, sometimes not.  Also, the same with my Enbrel inj.  I am more likely to bruise when I inject in the leg or the back of the arm (especially the back of the arm  I had a bruise probably every other injection.  It just happens.  You might want to try icing a bit afterwards.bruising comes from nicking a vein...no big deal.  Why doesn't your dr let you inject the med at home...its really easy to doI bruise sometimes after my Enbrel injection too.  I assumed it was just like Buckeye said - hitting a vein.
