OT - Wazzup my peeps? | Arthritis Information

Just got done mowing the lawn and picking up the remnants of the neighbors' 4th of July fireworks.  I will never understand why people insist on shooting bottle rockets and strings of firecrackers off at 3:00AM - I think there was more fireworks in the wee hours of Sunday morning than there were on the 4th of July!  I think next Sunday I will mow the lawn between our houses (very close together - perhaps the width of 2 cars) at 7:00AM.  It echoes nicely off the brick. We're finishing up the paperwork on the house and DH is at the base.  Laundry is the big item on my list today.  It's beautiful here.  The sun is bright and the fields are all green.  The flowers, especially the roses are in full bloom everywhere.  This is where we've decided to settle and everything is working well towards that goal.  We'll be in our little house that sits between the vineyard and the cornfield the second week in July.  Am looking forward to settling for awhile.  We'll get back to Mexico sometime next year.  I need to get a handle on health issues first.

Jas, hope all goes well with your brother.  Your plate is certainly full; you're lucky that you have a strong support network.  Take care.  Lindy

Sounds like you had a productive morning. We have a neighbor that LOVES to cut everyone grass. She will cut our lawn and the side of the road and the other neighbor next to us. She will start at 7am and will cut until about 9-10am. It is hard to go back to sleep when she does it during school time.

Me... well... we took son to the Dr. Hubby called in to work last night and took a vacation day. Son has been having a fever since Friday evening. He did not seem sick even with the fever.  Then Sunday he did not run a fever. Then 2am Monday morning he came into my room and I took his temp and it was 103.4. Gave him fever reducer and a cold shower and then this morning I called the ped office as soon as they opened and an hour later we took him to the Dr.

The doctor said nothing wrong with him infection wise. He checked for strep... negative. He said that son probably has a virus and it will run its course in 5 days.

So... I have another sicky kiddo on my hands now. But at least he seems himself when his fever is down and he is not irritable.

Hope your brothers appt goes well and no misadventures take place. Wish I had your energy! LOLhad a great weekend at the Jersey shore... family and friends and loads of laughs and fun.....  DIdn't want to come back to reality!!
Hope all goes well for your brother, Jas

babs102009-07-06 16:22:42Messy ordeal the fourth of July. When the rain quit Sunday I went for my little walk. Got a bag of sugar and tpaper the basics. Firework reminants everywhere. How did they make such a mess with all of that rain?Hey Jas!  I wondered where you were off too!  IDK if the lawn mower is annoying enough... you need something with a high pitched whine and really loud...
Hey Jas!  I wondered where you were off too!  IDK if the lawn mower is annoying enough... you need something with a high pitched whine and really loud...
I could blast Barry Manilow, or practice my trumpet... my bedroom window faces the parents' bedroom window, and they always have the window open in the summertime...
That right there is a BIG plus! IMO. At least he does not say really loud "I have to poop!" And if you are not close enough to the bathroom and thinks you are not headed there the "I have to poop!" gets louder and louder with each passing second! And when you get to the bathroom, all he had to do was pass gas and pee.

Hubby use to be embarrassed to take son to the bathroom, because son pulls his pants down to his knees and is in full moon when using the urinals. He tried to get son to use the stalls, but son liked using the urinals. Then hubby tried to show son how to just pull his pants down a little, but that did not work out well, as son peed on the front of his pants trying to do it.

So... now hubby just takes son to the bathroom and lets him moon people as he uses the urinals. We have been working with him at home about not pulling his pants down to his knees, but... son just cannot get the hang of not peeing on the front of his pants for some reason. I am not sure what he is doing wrong.
HA! My one son used to embarrass my husband because his pee had a mind of it's own- it would be spraying everywhere and every body! (I had the bathroom to prove it too

Son... pees wild too. My poor wall behind the toilet is just pitiful. I have to wipe it down all the time.
