Which one? The big question? | Arthritis Information

Enbrel, Humira, or Remicaid?  Hmmm The one that makes me the most well is what I should want. However I go threw them pretty fast. Allergies and such. Is there one that does not cause wieght gain? Is one more potentially dangerous than the other?

What is the one that works best for allergic people? I know it is all an individual roll of the dice. Experiences are welcome? These are the three recomendations made by my RD. I personally want to move to Canada and start the Simponi or what ever check spelling. Just cause I heard they were paying co pays. Then can I give myself a shot. Who makes the spring loaded injections. Is that more accurate. A little bit on the fence with the Remicaid I know the odds are with you just guess I have read a few to many scary articles. I think it is a great drug. Just not sure I am brave enough? I need help I am on prednisone in pain and over whelmed. In a good sort of way. I bought a cheap bottle of very not strong strawberry wine. May have a small glass later. Like three quarters of a wine glass should knock me on my Hiney. I wonder if I am strong enough to put the plastic cork back in it? Or get it out now that I think about. Maybe I will have a V-8. May have to wait for assistance with the wine bottle. .56 cents with tax. LOL Big spender I am.
Milly...Enbrel worked well for me for about a year, then stopped working. Humira never worked for me, and I had an allergic reaction to Remicade...severe tinnitus during the first infusion. I stayed on the Remicade for several monthsthough, and it really made me feel good, but the tinnitus continued to worsen, and my RD took me off of it. I then tried Rituxin, which didn't do a thing for me, then was on Orencia for about a year and a half before it stopped working. I'm now on Simponi (you don't have to go to Canada, it's been approved in the US!) but it's too early to tell how I'm going to respond...I've only had one injection.

As far as saying which one works best for allergic people, there's no way of telling unless you try them. Many of them require benadryl, tylenol, and even solumedrol before infusion to help ward off side effects. You'll really need to talk to your RD to decide which one would be best for you.
Weight gain? You missed that one?LOL...I try not to even think about the weight gain! Actually, I don't think any of my biologics have made me gain weight. It's probably more from the Prednisone and Cymbalta.Milly, have been through them all.  Humira has been the one that helped the most and I'm still on it.  I was off for 4 months due to a gum infection and has started to work again on restart.  No problems, a few infections but I might have had them anyway.  Also I'm 64 years old and may react a little differently than you.  Have had no allergic responses to any of the TNFs.  LindyMilly, I am going to try remicaid because medicare will pay part of it.  I was told that remicaid is the only one that medicare will honor.
