Vitamin D | Arthritis Information

A few months back I decided to add some Vitamin D to my morning pills since seeing all the posts about getting enough Vit.D.

I added 1000 IU plus my multi vit had 200 IU. A few months later I found that my mouth was VERY dry.  Figured it was the sjogren's getting worse (so far I'd only had problems with my eyes.) I'd never had such a dry mouth before.  I bought some oral balance and that helped a bit but still was bothered with the dry mouth.  There were only two new pills I had recently started and they were the Vit D and omega 3 salmon oil.  So I looked up side effects of too much vit D and there it was...dry mouth.  So I stopped the extra vit D (1000 IU) and within 2 days the dry mouth was gone.  This was a month or so ago and the dry mouth hasn't returned.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Good to know...with all the new information regarding Vit D, I've been wanting to supplement my diet also. I also have Sjogren's though, and I don't know if I could stand my mouth any dryer than it already is. It will be interesting to see what others say...I have Sjogrens' too... and I take extra D for a total of 1400 daily.... I've not had any more or less dry mouth since instituting that.... and I take Salagen for more saliva....

For me.... the D makes me feel so much better that I will sip on more water if need be....
I just started taking 2000 i.u. a few weeks back.  Haven't noticed a difference in dryness, but thank you for the heads up. Now I will know what it's from if it happens!Back up to the top It caused my mouth to be dry..not my eyes.  I'll have to remember to ask about my vit d level.  I guess I get enough vit d from the sun (I never use sunblock) and maybe that extra just wasn't needed.  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
