I went, I saw, I answered, and now have more testing scheduled.

He said that my heart and everything is very strong and all the testing I had done last year showed no reason for my rapid pulse. He asked what was found out about the TIA, even after the bubble testing he done. I told him nothing, except that my fibrinogen antibodies were twice the normal. He said he was going to check for blood clots in my legs, since I showed no blood clots in my lungs when I had the CT scan of them.

He asked a lot of questions. I answered.

He said he is going to do a few more tests, and then if those all come back clear he is going to stick with that I am physically stressed. *weird look*

He said I was a classic case of it. When he said stress, I asked what kind of stress, mental? He said no, physical. I asked him to explain, and he said... since I have uncontrolled RA & fibro, the limitations and stress my body goes thru when I am not doing well it takes a toll on me. I asked if he meant because it frustrates me when I cannot move right or do things. He said partly, but mainly the inflammation, and swelling and pain and it all causing me to use more energy to do less.

He asked if I have assistive devices and utilize them, I said nope. He said how about when you are shopping? I said nope. He asked why. I told him why. Because when I go to wal-mart I see that as my exercise. Then he just stared at me and said if I have palpatations just walking from the car to the front doors of wal-mart than I should use an assistive device and not stress my body out anymore than I already had walking into the store. I told him I do not really want to because I just do not think I should have to because of my RA. He said well... you should and need to. You have RA, a bad case of it, and it is not controlled, someone else that were having these problems I would not normally suggest that to, but since yours is from how your RA is doing and how your pain levels are, I am suggesting that you do use the mart cart. I told him I would, but I still would not feel like I should. He said good enough.

So... I guess... and hope that my rapid pulse is from physical stress. I mean that is kinda better than the blood clot right?

I go Monday for all the testing. Then if anything wrong they will call me and schedule me an appt. If not, then I go back in a year.

He also changed me from Coreg to Toprol. And gave me some other med that I am to take in place of my BP med when I get palpatations. I take the med every 8 hours until the palpatations go away and then I go back to taking Toprol. At least that is what I think he said. It is written on the bottles and I will call the office if I am still not clear on how to take them.

I guess that is all.
joonie2009-07-09 12:55:44I am going for echo to make sure no fluid around my heart, as Remicade can cause fluid buildup around the heart.

I am having another 24 hour heart monitor done.

I am having the ultrasound my of legs to check for blood clots.

I was going to have another carotid artery ultrasound, but I told them I had one last year by my GP. Said they would get the report, and they would decide if I needed another one or not. I would get it done same time as the ultrasound of my legs.
Sounds like your Cardiologist is on top of things...now listen to him about the scooter! LOL

I will try. I will only use it if I am not doing well. Like today, I did not use it. I am doing well.

See... the only problem I have with using the cart is, if I go weeks and months of not doing well, and use one then... I am not getting the "exercise" I need to be getting.

I do not know how to explain, what I am getting at. If I am not doing well for weeks than I try not to physically stress my body, than I am not being active. I feel like I am letting myself down, especially when I go weeks and into months of not doing well.

How are you suppose to not physically stress your body out if you are in a constant flare for weeks and into months? It is just not possible, without being inacitve for all that time. And that is what leads to other health problems, inactivity... right?

I thought I was balancing it all out, but apparently not. Everything I have read in RA magazines and online says if you are in a flare rest until it goes away. Well... what are you to do if the flare lasts for weeks and weeks? Just lay around and do nothing and go no where?

My mom said I should get what my CD said about physical stress in writing to show everyone who slams me for not cleaning the house and doing what they think I should be doing when I am flaring.

I mean I can take it when they talk about that crap when I am not flaring, but when I am flaring it makes me feel like I am being a wuss and should just suck it up and do.

I have cleaned my house, with the help of my niece, and I have been keeping it picked up and tidy, because I am able to, because I am doing well physically. I still am not doing the bending over alot part... meaning I am not picking the stuff out of the floor. I get my son to pick his stuff up out of the floor. But other than that I am vacuuming and sweeping and all the stuff I need to be doing.

Plus, the warmer weather helps me to do better as well. But the rain, does not.

Oh and he looked at my meds list, and he said I was on even more meds than last visit. I said yeah, but it has helped to control the fibro better, to where I do not have insomnia since starting them. He said well... that is good. As last time I was worried about how much lack of sleep you were getting and thought that might have been a part of the rapid pulse.
joonie2009-07-08 17:37:42Sounds like a pretty good appt.! Hopefully the tests will go well and you won't have to go back for a year!
I take Toprol XL for my HBP and my BP is absolutely wonderful! Hope it works as well for you.

Hey- how did the kidlets behave?
Wow Joonie, you certainly have a lot on your plate.  Hope that all of your testing comes out negative.   [QUOTE=wanttobeRAfree]Sounds like a pretty good appt.! Hopefully the tests will go well and you won't have to go back for a year!
