Do you have one?

No need for me at this point and time. Yes, and I use it. I've had multiple major foot surgeries/fusions and both of my knees need to be replaced, so it really helps. I've had it for 5 years.[QUOTE=joonie]

yes
Yes. Got it 2 years after DX of MSnope lol
BUT... my mom has one
and so does my grandma
lol
Yes.BumpNo but it would be nice some days. Yep sure do!No. When I walk in the store I don't need it, when I walk out with a cart full of groceries, I sure wish I had one or had found a closer spot to begin with.I've had the application for a year, but haven't taken it to the Dr.  There are times when I wish I had one, but I know the exercise is better.  One of these days I'll probably get one though, just in case.Yes I do.  If I can find a close spot without using it, or if I'm having a "better day" I don't use it, but I do need it quite a bit.

Similar to what Deidre said, it's not that I can't walk into the store, but by the time I've walked around the store just a little bit, or stood in line, and come back out, then I need it badly.
Yes, I am so pleased I got it as some days I really need it, don't use it unless I have to though!  Janie.I have one... I got it about 10 years after diagnosis.  I use it too I have one and I do use it sometimes.  Love it!  It's coming out of the store that's a bummer.   I have one. I have had mine for 5 years. I use it whenever I go shopping unless there is only one space left and there is a handicapped person in a wheelchair who needs it more than me. I have one, and there are those days I need it to get into the store!  I don't use it if I am feeling good, but I don't hesitate to use it when I am feeling rough around the edges! BumpNo. My mindset, wrong though it may be, is that if I can drive without a problem I can then navigate into and out of the place of business I am frequenting.

However, I have always been one who parks as far away from the crowd as possible. It distresses me when I return to my vehicle to find a bump, scratch, or gouge in the paint from someone's door, a shopping cart, or to find someone has used the hood of my vehicle to unload their supplies to make it easier for them to load their own vehicle without pushing the buggy too close to their own paint.
YES  and it helps a lotNope.  Don't need one.  Yes, I do and I use it.  Have tags on my car and a placard for when someone else drives.  Since I don't have a driveway, I requested and got a reserved handicap parking spot in front of my house too. oh youre such a fvcking saint.
I've had one since my DX with cardiomyopathy..7 years now.
I use it when I need it.

Some days I feel great so I don't  bother, the other day at wally world I not only used the  placard, I used the motorized scooter to get around the store.. Hanging on the cart would have worn me out.

I pretty much always use it at the grocery store. I get so  exhausted by the time I leave, I'm shaking and sweating and gasping for air, that I park close and request  a carry out assistant.

What people don't realize is there are so many hidden conditions.

When I first got my card, some woman frowned at me and said, "you cant  REALLY need that."  I told her that I was very ill with cardiomyopathy, which didn't show, but her ignorance DID show."

sheesh .

I get so angry when people park in handicapped spaces with no placard or license plate  symbol.. If they have to drop someone off, do it in front of the door and pick them up there when they come out.  Prk where you can see the door, but don't hog the space

I don't have one, don't need it yet.  (although today, I might take one LOL).  I agree that some people don't respect that some diseases are invisible and that in no way takes away from their need to have one.

I had someone say that to my mother.  She had terminal colon and liver cancer, at that time, and had only six months left to live.  I was so angry!!!!!!!  People can be so heartless!

People shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Yes, I have one and I use it when necessary, which is more often than I'd like.  I have no problem driving, it's the walking on these deformed feet, that do me in.

Nope - don't need one.  Besides, my dad has one, so if we go to museums or big events, we get to park up front anyway. I have one.I have had one for a few months now. Some days my knees and especially my feet are bad so I do use it. Other days when everything is good or as close to it as can be I do not use it.
I wish I didn't need it but the reality is some days I do.
