Questions about diagnostics | Arthritis Information

Just have been doing some research and wondering a few things. I am negative for the HLA-B27 gene so I rule out the thought that I could have any of these disorders such as spondylopathies and reactive arthritis associated with that gene. I doubt anyone could be seronegative for a gene as a gene is different than an antibody.

I am sero positive RF and anti-ccp so I can certainly rule out things such as Paladromic and PSA they are always seronegative. Anyone that knows differntly please let me know. I do not have rash I am just trying to access how we are diagnosed. That is has anyone ever had say PSA which is seronegative and gone on to have RA and be tested RF positive? I know some people have both but was wondering more about if it was both sero neg.  I suppose also was wondering if anyone ever was RF positive and then went on to aquire something that was seronegative such as PSA. I guess it could go both ways.

Also I do know that it is possible to be seronegative ANA because I am seronegative ANA but I have Sjorgrens very badly even and I test negative for all of the antibodies that are found in Sjorgrens. Anyone with input on this subject please reply.

The association of rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP in patients with palindromic rheumatism is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of this condition. Rheumatoid factor is found in 40 – 65% of these patients according to some studies...
