So... I went. I sat for about 10 mins. And then the receptionist called me to the window to tell me my appt was not until wednsday. *smacks forehead*

Yep... had to hear it all the way home from FIL about writing my appts down. Then I showed him the card in my purse that said when my appt was.

See what happened was, the lady gave me an appt for monday first; but it was to late in the day... so... I asked for an earlier appt. and that one was on wednsday. I forgot we changed the day.

I always have a hard time remembering my appts. Even with it written down on a card. I even misread the date or time on the cards! I am pitiful!
just a suggestion that the day before  (or Friday before) the date of the appt that you call to confirm. I've started to do that and it really helps striaghten out any confusionYeah, probably should. Most times they call the day before my appt. And sometimes, they will call on a friday to remind me of my appt. And then I remember it, because I think of how "stupid" it is to call and remind someone of their appt, 3 days before their appt. Those are the appts, I remember the most because something was attached to it like that. Oh and if I write it down when they call, I misplace the piece of paper. I remember one time I had to call 3 times in one week to get my appt time.

I was soo confident about this appt time and day. That is what is scary LOL!

I am never confident about when an appt is. I use to piss off hubby because I just cannot remember when my appts were. So... new thing... well not so new... is to give him my appt cards and he keeps up with it for me. He has to know when they are so he can take off. But that is only for appts that are out of town. I guess I will just start giving MIL my appt cards or writing it all down for her so she can help me keep up with it.

I said I was going to do that when I was in the truck today, and FIL said no, that I needed to keep up with it. I try... and it never fails, I always botch it up. For some reason my mind does not like dates or time.

I remember when I could remember things and need no one to remember them for me. Or for me to feel like a complete imbecile.

It is like me and my not being able to remember simple words. I am not sure what it is all from. But I need to get it treated, if it can be.
joonie2009-07-13 10:31:20I use the computer for my appointments as they pop up when I turn it on. As I use the computer every day I never forget...lolI do not use my laptop everyday. So... that would not work for me. I go thru spurts of not being online as much.

I will just start calling and confirming when I cannot find my appt card.

I keep my schedule on my smartphone and have it remind me the day before.  Otherwise, I'd never remember mine either!

I write mine on my husband's desk blotter and then he leaves me a note.Joonie arn't you on predisone, when I was on it for a long time, I was that way, I could not even remember grandkids names, I knew who they were, I would just call them by the wrong name, also I had trouble saying the right words. I felt like I was crazy, losing my mind. It seem like I knew in my mind what to say and do, just couldn't do it.  Oh don't we love  that pred.  So many factors for me. UGH!

Maybe it will be better later this week. Here's to hoping!

I am always hearing that from hubster...

Will see what I can come up with. My son likes to get into my stuff. When we cleaned up the house, we found 6 pairs of scissors. They were all mine. They went missing. So, I would buy another pair from the dollar tree or wal-mart.

My son thinks what ever is mine is his, and whatever is his is his, and whatever is everyone elses is his.

He steals my pens, pencils, markers, dry erase markers, my sharpies, notebooks, cards, papers. I even bought a large dry erase board to write down daughters chore list on, and son decided it was a slide and slide down it a few times and broke it in half! down the drain.

It is hard to keep my stuff from my son. He is obssessed with calendars too. He stole my Halo calendar and cut it up to make me a pretty card. Been there, done that.  A couple years ago when my boys had their annual checkup, I stopped by my rheumatologist's office (located in the same medical building) to see when my next appointment was.  Whoops!  It was that day!  Needless to say, I was not fully prepared for that visit, and my boys were not happy about having to hang out in yet another waiting room! I use an old-fashioned calendar.  Posted this before and it disappeared!
I use an old-fashioned calendar.  Posted this before and it disappeared!
Yea, but all too often with the hustle and bustle of family life things don't make it into my calendar.I don't get the date wrong, but sometimes I find myself driving to the wrong office.  Luckily, I figure it out before I get too far and have made it to the correct office on time.  But I know one day I'll be late-it's invetiable.  I was late to work once last year.  I taught at one school for 9 yrs. and transferred to another last year.  Out of habit, I drove to the old school and actually made it too the parking lot.  Sad really....
I don't get the date wrong, but sometimes I find myself driving to the wrong office.
Oh GREAT! Now I am glad I do not drive!
