New treatment in the works | Arthritis Information

I saw this on the news the other night, and Hula dug up a link for me. It's
still 5-10 years away, but nice to know things are in the pipeline. Also, in
animal trials the drug reversed existing joint damage! Hopefully it translates
to humans just as well.

Sorry, URL tags never work for me here

 Albear,

Don't feel alone, they don't work for me either.

I tried your link and it does not come up.  I tried using it in varied areas of the link and it didn't work either.

What about trying html tags or maybe the tags are specific to phpbb and not work in other modules.

I hope you find a work around for this...

Toni

I just went to bordermail.com.au and typed rheumatoid arthritis in the search box and then found the article in the results. I hope it works as well for humans too. This sounds sooo promising. The 5-10 years won't come fast enough if it works!! Thanks for the heads up albear! Somehow a space snuck into the address and it won't let me correct it!
Everytime I put the address in, it looks fine here, but when I publish the post
it puts a space before the last 34... hoorah for being technologically
challenged

Albear..

That's why Robots will never take over the world...They need humans to keep cleaning up their bad programs....HEHEHEHE

I wish I could help you on this one but I seem to be out of artificial intelligence right now.  I'll try back with a helper answer after I re-program my bot.

Ok...Here is the link that auntlisa is talking about.  Maybe it will work.

THIS ONE WORKS

It will probably be too late for most of us but will help arthritis sufferers in the future which is a good thing. I hope it also works on osteoarthritis. I had visions of the drug coming out just as I was getting near the end of my life and thought wouldn't that be frustrating! It is a bit hard to believe that it will do what is described in the article and work permanently if the drug continues to be taken but who knows? There is also stem cell research which promises to be able to grow new cells to replace damaged ones but again it will most likely benefit future generations rather than us.

Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

Sounds WAY too good to be true - almost like a cure.

Would be nice - and I hope it IS a cure.

WOW.   Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!   ( I can DO this, because I just got a cortisone shot!! LOL)

woobie

I'm a bit skeptical too.  It sure would be a miracle break through...The OK to bring it into the USA, will greatly depend upon how hard the Drug Company and their lobbyists are willing or allowed to go and how much our government officials want...After all, we (USA) do not encourage our Pharmaceutical companies to develop much of anything in the way of new innovating drugs.  (just my thoughts)

Here is some good reading on What Really Goes on in the world of Pharmaceuticals.

thanks, for the links! it would be great! i can not even imagine what it would be like to go skiing, biking or just to work in my flower garden with no pain!!

Me either and those are all the things I love to do.  I am hoping that another Biologic will give me a better response.

I do worry about when there is nothing else to take.  What will we all do then.  If we are not producing here in the United states.  It takes a long time to get the drugs approved and then to have to wait for other countries drugs to get approved here, that takes up even more precious time.  I do believe in being safe but sometimes waiting can be forever.

This drug sound way to good to be true it has to be everyone here's dream come true.

I couldn't imagine my life without RA now. Not that i don't wish every night before i go to bed that i will wake up without it. Instead we get stiffnes and shots. However would we be who we are if we didn't have RA. I think it has made me stronger even though at times i can't face another minute of the pain.

We will all get there in the end.

'However would we be who we are if we didn't have RA'

You'd be the same person only a lot healthier and happier.

My arthritis is something I hate and I don't consider it an essential part of me but rather an unfortunate affliction my body has that I could do without. It has had no benefits making me 'stronger' or anything else but rather limiting my ability to live fully and I wouldn’t miss it one bit if it was gone. I hate it.

Hey

I would love for mind to be gone too, but it ain't gonna happen. I've just lived with it so long that i don't really remember much of my life without it.
