so i did it ppl

i sayd i would exercise
and i did

this morning before lunch i did 40 minutes on the stationary bike

and i just came back from doing another hour on it

im so tired now

and i drank like 3 or 4 glasses of water today, so thats good

i listened to my doctor, finally lol

the exercise should be good for my heart, my JRA (maybe im not sure) and my blood sugar

its been pretty high lately, last night was 206 and the night before was 188.

but i did exercise and im trying to do healthy stuff now.
so thats good, i think.
Good job!great job but keep in mind you can't go from doing nothing to killing yourself.  Modersation as you ramp up will prevent injury.  Work smarter not harderyeah i guess
my mom told me to start off slow, like doing 10-15 minutes
since it was my first day of actually doing something

but do i ever listen... nope
i did it for 100 minutes today and now i bet im gonna be sore tommorow
but i really want my blood sugar low
and im trying hard now

i guess tommorow i'll listen to my mom and not do so much
cuz now my chest hurts
Great job star, I need to do some of that exercising stuff. Keep it up.yup and it wasnt so bad
i listened to my ipod and it was sorta fun
lol

i thought itd be ALOT worse
Seriously though you're risking muscle, tendon or joint injury by doing too much at once. well i thought u ppl would be happy that i got off my *ss and actually did something for a change, well i guess not.

we are proud of you for starting an exercise program....but we also don't want you to hurt yourself.

I am proud of you. You are a kid you can probably handle more than us old people. LOL Maybe they are just jealous. I would work very hard if my bloodsugar was that high. You did good. So let us know tomorrow. If you can not do as much because you are sore than try to do some. Good job well done.thnx ppl
so anyways i decided that if i do exercise tommorow
im only gonna do maybe 20 minutes
cuz i did too much today

cuz now my *ss hurts, REALLY im havin trouble walking
the bike chair part is so hard that u sit on
i asked my mom to get like a pillow/cushion for it
cuz its terrible, i cant use it for too long without hurtin bad

and i need a break anyways, maybe i can use the treadmill instead
idk, i'll think of something tho
That is wonderful Star!  I'm so glad you made the first step - that is the hardest.  Getting started is so easy to put off, but you did it!  And you seem to think it wasn't so bad, right?  Good to hear you sound so proud of yourself!

And I'm proud of you too!

Good job, Star!

How about exercising every other day?

You know sometimes when you hurt after doing something you tend to not want to do it again.

Let us know how you are progressing.
Hey Star - I'm glad to see you are taking a step in the right direction.  Good for you.  I think you should progress slowly and build up as you go - like many others have suggested.  Exercise should be fun and enjoyable or you won't continue to do it.  As far as your bottom hurting from the bike seat know that your bottom will toughen up over time as you ride/pedal more.  I am speaking from experience - lots of experience.  Whether I was preparing for a bike trip or just starting to ride in the spring time my bottom would be sore for awhile.  Eventually that discomfort goes away and cycling becomes very pleasurable.  When I was 19 years old I rode my bike across the country.  Even though I trained some before the big trip, my bottom hurt many days during the trip (7 weeks of riding).  Bottom pain isn't doing any damage. I would be more concerned if you had joint or tendon pain.  That could be much more serious.   Anyway, slow and steady wins the race!!!  I hope you have many happy hours cycling indoors and out.  I hope your friend can help you learn to ride outside.  Good luck.

Kim
hmmm maybe every other day would be good
even that would be more than the cardiologist suggested
she told me to do it at least twice a week

well, it was also good for my blood sugar
tonight i was 106
thats the LOWEST ive ever been

im gonna do a little exercise everyday at least 20 minutes
not too much, but it works for my blood sugar and it keeps me healthy too

i'll be sure to keep u ppl updated with how good im doing
ok
GREATblood sugar, Star!!

Keep up the good work..... but don't push yourself...
Great job on your blood sugar. I have diabetes too and I know how hard it is to get it under control. thnx
yeah ive been havin trouble
the last few nights
monday was 188 and tuesday was 206

im glad that im doing better now
and its all cuz of the exercise
im sure
Great news about the exercising Star! As others have said though, you have to start out slow and build up, so you don't risk muscle, tendon, joint damage. Always be sure and listen to your body!  so i did it
even tho i hurt
i managed to do 15 minutes today
atleast i tried
lol
Great job!!! What is the bloodsugar today?

oh yeah i forgot to say

it was 118 tonight
and that was with only 15 minutes of exercise

so im happy, im doing pretty good now
yay lol
Yippie!!!!  That is so much better than it was. How are the headaches?  Are they better when your bloodsugar is lower?nope i still got terrible headaches
i take tylenol like everyday and theyre better for a while
but then they always come back

GREAT job on the exercising!!  yup babs, and im gonna do more today
i gotta keep my blood low
or else...
The sports physiologist who is working with me to increase my physical strength, endurance, and to enhance my muscle tone tells me that 15-20 minutes four or five time a day of strenuous activity is, in the early stages of an exercise program, more beneficial than longer sessions. Especially for someone who has not been routinely exercising. Additionally, shorter more frequent sessions will, as others have remarked, help prevent muscle and or joint problems. For anyone with JRA or RA preventing injuries is as important as the exercise itself.

Good for you taking your blood glucose levels seriously and realizing the importance of exercise.
yup and ive been doing good too
its been really low, some of the lowest numbers ever

yeah maybe i should do shorter exercise sessions
maybe do 15 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day
that would make it seem easier than doing it all at once
Glad to you doing so well!
