My husband and I worked on my golf swing last week.  He filmed me and it helped a lot seeing what I was doing, as opposed to "feeling" it.  I'm very new at the game.  He had me holding the club in my fingers instead of the palm of my hands, and I did better - but by the end of hitting balls, my thumb was in agony.  You know how it hurts to press on your finger joints?  Well, my right thumb had been taking the brunt of it and I thought I had a blister.  I didn't, it eventually stopped hurting.

To avoid that in the future, I decided to wear TWO gloves.  I played 18 holes that way, and it was a real eye-opener.  I felt like I had much better hold of the club without gripping it too tightly.  I'd suggest any golfers with weak hands give two gloves a try.  Yeah, it's a hassle putting on and taking off two instead of one when you're ready to putt, but in my mind it's worth it.
good for you Bluehour!!   Hope this can work for others too.....
I've not golfed in years.. but some day when leisure is a little more available, I will begin again.
Good suggestion Blue.  We're golfing tomorrow and I'll give it a try.  My problem is my right wrist but I'll take any suggestions.  LindyLin, have you tried a wrist support?  I have one for each (jeez, I would really be covered with a glove on each hand and wrist supports) but since the MTX kicked in, my wrist is way better and I haven't used them.  I did put an ace bandage on my wrist and golfed that way once, it seemed to help.
Did I make it clear in my original post that it was a glove on each hand?  Not two gloves on ONE hand???  Good luck tomorrow, Lin.  I'm going out too.
Babs, I didn't start golfing till my fifties, and my kids grown up.  It takes so much time.  But my husband loves to golf and I am finally learning how so we can play together.
I'm in my 50's but have a 13 year old....... will have to wait a little longer!! ;)The extra glove is a great idea Bluehour.  I most certainly will try this if I should need to.  Also, way to go to DH for videoing your swing because what we think we are doing and what we are acutually doing are usually two different things.  The video is a great teaching tool.  Good luck tomorrow.  We are having a shotgun start at 8 am in the morning which is good as our temperature is up to or over 100 d again.

Good golfing.

I don't have the golf ad on mine, Lyndee. But I noticed something on another thread, about footwear. Someone who joined TODAY, first post, put in a link to a shoe website. I apologize if it was a real person and not a scammer, but it sure made me think someone was trying to sell some shoes. Do people scroll around looking for keywords, and then try to place an ad? May be my cynical nature, but...
Looks like lots of us are golfing today.
