Lastnight something strange happened....my wrist/hand had been hurting the night before , all day yesterday then when i went to bed my fingers after lying down for a 1/2 hr went tingly numb...all of them except my pinky...the inside of my wrist is swollen... i couldnt get the feeling back...i turned and moved my hand in different positions...finally i hung it over the side of the bed and the feeling came back...as soon as i moved it up by me again,tingly, numb feelings came back. i tried ice, that hurt worse...
Has anyone had that happen where the RA hits a joint and causes more problems? my wrist was so swollen it caused my fingers to go numb.
I have some wrist braces that I wear sometimes when I have this problem. Lots of us have simular problems.
If it continues to happen look for these braces in the drug store. Their not expensive and they help alot. A lot of us wear them to sleep in.

Do I need to worry when my fingers go numb/tingly? Its like my wrist is so swollen its cutting the blood circulation off . I tried making a dr. appt today but he's leaving early, so now i wait until tomorrow. I guess I'm a bit of a worry wart. I would think having the circulation cut off from your fingers all night woudlnt be good for your hands??
Make an appointment with a hand therapist, or have your doctor make one for you. It is my considered opinion that the investment of having a thorough evaluation and receiving recommendations from a 'certified' hand therapist. Additionally, a hand therapist can custom make braces/splints. For my $$, this is one of the most important things we can do when experiencing symptoms such as you describe.
