update....went to rheumy today | Arthritis Information

 

I went to my rheumatolgist today. At first she said, hmmm im not sure if this really is JRA, no inflammation. but then she felt my joints and went right back to JRA. Starting prednisone tomorrow. ive had 2 remicade infusions so far, and so far they are not working. my joints are just not cooperating. its not cool

things are so bad that im HAPPY to be going on prednisoneSorry to hear you haven't gotten any relief from the remicade yet.  Has you doctor said anything about changing the dosage or trying something different?  I hope the pred helps you quickly.

Don't you hate when your DX is wishy washy? Sorry you are feeling bad enough to want to go on prednisone.  What did the dr. say about time frame and relief with remicade? she said i had to have 4 doses before i could make a decision....she upped my dose though for the next infusion.

ive seen Star around.......and would be happy to help him, talk to him, be a someone younger with arthritis person to talk to...Don't give up hope Little Mermaid! Maybe a stronger dose is just what you need!

That would be great if you could talk with Star- you know how it is to go through this while you are still young...

Yes I must say I have never known you to be happy about being on prednisone. I do hope that you get some good results from the Remicaid soon. Hang in there. Glad to here from you. Wish it was going better for you. When it does work let us know I am sure you will be busy when it finally starts helping you. Best of luck!haha yea I will let you all know. im super busy as is! this arthritis may suck big time, but I still keep busy!

40mg prednisone coming at me tomorrow morning-CANT WAIT!

I love prednisone, i just hate the side effects, and how long it always takes me to taper off....ive tried so hard to stay off it the last few years....whatever, i want to enjoy my summer for a little, maybe not pain free, but better? that would be nice!I hope it does the trick. Have fun. Great to hear from you.You sound very well adjusted. May I ask how old you are and how long have you had JRA? I also think it would be nice if you talked with Star. I think he's a little lonely, not many friends his age who understand. I am currently pming with star, thanks for getting us together.

Im 21, ive had JRA for 13 years.....so i guess im pretty used to it :)

cant sleeeeep! Little mermaid- 40 mgs of prednisone is what turned me right around! I hope it does the same for you- it reset my "switch". I felt extremely better immediately and they kept me on it at that dose for about a month and then it was a year long taper after that. Best of luck to you. How is your summer job? When do you go back to school? Hi Little Mermaid,  I just want to send you good wishes that you will feel better real soon..AH I LOVE PREDNISONE! I feel awesome, I have been so hyper today lol energized! I am supposed to be on a real short taper, just 3 days on 40 and 10 mg down every 3 days. then I am to stay on 10. im not sure how well that will work. I want to stay on 40, but i dont want to mess up my body for the rest of my life lol

my job is going well. I am working in a lab doing research. I go back to school in 3 weeks! Glad you got some relief!

 

Now, If we all could just stay on high doses of pred, we would all be so much happier. ugh pred......  it's a wolf in sheeps clothing!!

 

Hang in there Mermaid...... I hope you find more permanent help but am glad you're feeling better now.
