Hi, I am new to this so please bear with me. Is anyone been diagnosed with cardio problems? I had to have 3 stents last year and the only dr not surprised was the rheumatologist. I have been on remicade and mxt for 5 years now and beginning to not control the skin and joint pain. I also found that the meds for my heart dont always agree with the mxt. I often wake up feeling like I have been on a drinking binge and I dont drink. This has to be the most frustating illness. I also had thyroid cancer in 2006 and wondered if maybe all the different meds (amevive,mxt,remicade, not mention all the others) may have triggered the cancer? So if anyone has advice I am all ears.
Hi and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've had your share of health issues. Cardiac diagnoses are common with longterm RA and PsA. Inflammation from these two autoimmune diseases also can cause cardiac problems. There are several studies that have been done. I'll check and see what I can find and post for you. Your rheumatologist would be the one to question about side effects of the drugs your on and if they can cause cancer of the thyroid.
