Does anyone have problems with their ears?  When I wake up feeling like it is going to be a particularly bad day in terms of my ra, my ears feel full and kind of achy.  They also run abit.  Is this common?  Anyone else experience a connection with their ears and their ra?I have a tinnitus problem that I believe was caused by an adverse reaction to Remicade. Even though I haven't been on Remicade for several years, the tinnitus continues, and is definitely worse when I'm in a flare. High doses of Predsnison have also been shown to help reduce the constant ringing, so my RD thinks the RA has moved into the small bones and cartilage of my earsI have PsA and have very bad problems with my ears. Major itching from the psoriasis and pain often. I have gone yo the doctor with horrible ear pain thinking for sure it was infected but ends up being just very inflammed. Don't know if it's different than RA though. In my experience PsA and RA are very similar insymptoms and pain problems.

I have had tinnitus for some years and it is getting worse  :( - and it is amazing how many folk on arthritis sites also suffer from it.  I'm not on Remicade but on mtx, Celebrex, placquenil;  and in the past was on Naprosyn.  Don't know whether to blame the meds or the arthritis, but it is a nuisance!

Lorrainebefore..........long before taking any meds for my RA I had hearing loss.....  tinnitus, hi=decibel hearing and pressure (like full) in my ears.
I do manage better when my RA is in control.... but will always have the hearing loss and the tinnitus is always there too......  I have aids to use when I choose.....
I experienced problems with my left ear.  It was very itchy (deep inside), and I would try to scratch it, unconsciously.  I have very long fingernails, so when I scratched, I would get, what looked like dry blood.  I was sent to an ENT, who told me that I have arthritis (I can't remember the corrent name), caused by my RA, and it was actually eating a hole, through the bone, in my inner ear.  You couldn't see it with the normal ear examing tools.  The ENT cleaned out all the dead bone and gave me some eardrops to take.  It seemed to clear up for a couple of months, but it still comes back.  I guess when you have arthritis, it never really goes away.  I never realized, before this incident, that you could even get arthritis in your ears.  I don't know if this helps, but you might want to be checked by an ENT.  An ENT is the only type of doctor that has the special machine required to see that deep in to the ear.  If it is the beginning of arthritis, then maybe they can catch it early, before it does any damage.  I hope you feel better!
