Hi Smurfette. It is easy to be in denial about RA. Every time I am better I go into denial. I have to use a cane also when I am limping bad. I feel very self conscience with it so be proud you had the guts to use it because you need it to go to work. Don't give up - things are going to get better. What meds are you on? I wish I could keep track of everyone's meds on here! Wishing you days you can forget your RA
Have you searched on eBay for trendy walking sticks? I just did a search on them and there is quite a selection. I am currently buying reading glasses on eBay. I found one seller that has the neatest readers for next to nothing prices and does not gouge the buyer with shipping charges. Hope you find a cool one. RozBuds hate that Pred. I have been trying for 6 months to get off it. everytime i go less than 10mgs i flare like a firework. have you been tested for osteoperosis? my pred use hase caused it. try explaining as a 40 year old male that you have a 70 year old womans disease, (i know it really isn't, but thats the view portrayed in all TV commercials).
