Evening All,
As most of you know my car was totaled a couple months back. Well, as of 2 weeks I have been looking for a vehicle. Not  new (don't want another 5 years of payments) just old enough to be still good and maintenance free another while yet. I have test driven many. I've looked a different kinds of cars and keep coming back to a compact size SUV. To hard to go from a truck to a car just yet. I am seriously considering a Mazda tribute and was wondering if any of you all have had experience with them and could let me know how you liked the SUV, any maintenence issues. I know there have been some recall issues on certain years. I am looking at an 04-05 Anything pro or con you could  tell me would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know about the Mazda but I love my Toyota Rav 4.  Its easy to drive gets the best gas mileage among the small SUV's.  Mine is 5 years old and Ihaven't had any maintance problems.  For a short person with RA its very easy to get in and out of..I describe it as butt high..no climbing in or out.

Don't know about that model....my family has Jeeps.  Never had an issue with a jeep and I've been driving them for years as have my husband and 2 kids.

I am in misery when I'm riding in a car vs. an SUV.  I have a hard time getting in and out of low vehicles so an SUV is the right height for me.

Good luck.
I don't know about the Mazda. I have a GMC Envoy Denali. We traded my Tahoe for it in Feb. I really love it. It's luxury enough as it has all the bells and whisles of a nice luxury car; but in an SUV. It's much smaller than my Tahoe so it's easier to park which I learned to appreciate very quickly.

I drove the Tahoe for years because we have 4 children and I needed the thrid seat. Since my oldest started driving I realized that I NEVER used the thrid seat so there was no reason for me to be driving that big SUV anymore. To be honest though....my Envoy isn't much better on the gas mileage. A little....but not much since it has a larger engine than other small SUV's.

Car dealers are really dealing on cars right now. You should be able to get a good deal. Good Luck!
Thanks to everyonewho replayed concerning the Mazda Tribute. After much searching and gatherig info from freinds, family and online have decided not to pursue a Tribute. Too many similar complaints versus good reports. Am going out to test drive a CR-V today. Hopefully we can come to an agreement on this one.
