I heard that it is 106 in Portland,  100 in Seattle.  This is very unusual for the cool Northwest.  Is anyone affected, i.e. TeedOff?I have friends in Seattle.. One was just saying to me earlier today that they have no air conditioning because it never gets much above 80 degrees!!  she is now suffering w/ hot flashes and HEAT AND HUMIDITY....

They are not prepared....

I live in Olympia and it was 100 here yesterday and today it's suppose to be about 103. I'm lucky that we have air conditioning thank God, 3 year old in this heat are not reasonable he'll mommy's not reasonable! Pray for rain pleas!Hummm... we usually get in the 100 degree weather, but yesterday it was 70 degrees and raining.

Haven't really heard much about the heat up there, but I really don't have contact with a whole lot up people up that way. We've had a break here the past couple of days because of an off-shore breeze.

I hope you get some rain soon, Ally!! Aren't there a couple of lows off the coast right now?
My first post, but I could not resist. I'm in Vancouver, WA and my computer tells me it is now 104, expecting to get to 107. At least I have AC at my office and home, tho home works better. Don't know if it's the heat or just my RA acting up again but I had to increase my Medrol today. I enjoy reading the posts and get lots of support from them. It's been a rough year - diagnosed just over a year ago and multiple medical problems since then. This disease is not for sissies! That's what I also say about getting old. So thats where are 100+ degrees went, North.  After weeks of 100+,  We cool off to the mid 90s.  Keep the heat and sent us some rain.  I miss green,  green Tenn. and Ind.wow, it sure gets hot
not here, it was only around 80 today

then it rained this afternoon
its only 77 right now tho
Oh rain how I miss you please come back soon! We love the rain, one of the reasons we live in Washington, keeps things beautiful. Just being north of Spokane Washington we have been caught in a catch 22.  For the past week or so we experienced horrendous thunderstorms one minute and the next it was 95 to 100 d.  Yesterday they had tornadoe warnings over in Idaho which is very unusual for north country.  Mon. I don't know what the temp. got to but the humidity was 100%.  At 6:30 a.m. I felt like I was in a sauna bath and yet there was so much fog we could not see 20 ft in front of us.  Weird!  Right now it is a cool 90 deg in the shade and the time is 6:34 pm.

Many of us in the north/midatlantic states have been saying WE are getting Washington's weather....it's been a very very cool summer thus far.

very odd weather patterns

Good luck, all dealing with the heat.  Southern CA is cool, gray and overcast.  Could use some sun but not high temps!

I live in Seattle. It was 103 yesterday!  Today we are all saying, wow, it's ONLY 93 right now! woo hoo!  This heat is terrible. I never thought I'd say it, but I miss the cool Seattle weather! We have no AC in our home so its been horrible to try and sleep.Klynn
I feel ya. I just got back from ocean shores where it was 70 I miss it already. We are fortunate enough to have air conditoning so at least we can sleep. Allymom:  I am so jealous of your AC! lol   I cant imagine having a little 3 yr old trying to deal with this heat. We have 2 older boys under age 12 , they're not happy, but hanging in there. We were at Ocean Shores on the 4th of July weekend and it was rainy and COLD!  I bet it was nice around this time to visit I'm in Southeastern Washington, and 100 plus in the summer is the norm.  They don't get that hot on the West side of the state very often though.  That's an ordinary summer's day in kansas -- but we've been cooler than normal this year -- don't send it this way.....I hope it has cooled off up there.  Those temperatures can result in heat illnesses.  When it is that hot down here, they open cool centers.Still pretty hot here but definetly better. We've had some cooling stations open in most cities. This is just crazy fir us, I feel like I'm in Hawaii, except without the white sandy beaches, deep blue ocean
and hot surfer men! Ahh how nice that sounds, but alas I'm at work. Shame.
That's an ordinary summer's day in kansas ...
And a cool summer's day in Arizona. On Thursday is was 111 degrees; tomorrow it is predicted to be at least that hot, interrupted by a 99 degree day. Personally, it is not the temperature that sends me scurrying to the comfort of my evaporative-cooled abode, it is the humidity. When the humidity climbs so does the pain in my joints!

I wish cool breezes and temperate conditions for everyone!

Here in Nevada it's been in the low 100s but has cooled down to a chilly 93 degrees.  In the night desert the temps are perfect, about 65 to 70 and sleeping is good.  Shug, it's strange but high humidity doesn't bother my joints.  I know that it bothers others but for some reason I'm ok in the humidity.  Lindy

Hope you have cooled off!!!

It has cooled off a wee bit Jan but we need some rain desperately as the whole province will be in flames if we don't.  It is getting worse by the day.  Thanks be to the Ausies and the New Zelanders for coming to our aid.  It is so heartbreaking to see so many families having to leave their homes.  Reminds me of last year in Australia.  One man has refused to leave as he has no way to get his animals out and he won't leave them.  We can only pray for them and for some rain.
