Muscular pain | Arthritis Information

I have occasional muscular pain close to the areas of my joints, specifically hip and knees.  It is sharp and quite painful but thankfully it only lasts for a few seconds.  I think the pain near my hip may be instigated by sitting but I'm not really sure.  I was wondering if anyone else with RA had this problem.  Sorry cristene no help here.  My RA feels like someone chiseling at my bones and lasts for days.  Completely different from any muscular pain I've ever felt.  Pain in any from however, is not normal and certainly worth discussing with your doctor.  Good luck in finding the cause of your pain.  Peace & Love....Neasy

cristene, I have muscular pain around the joint areas.  I also have muscular pain throughout most of my body.  It's caused by the Fibromyalgia, which accompanyies my RA.  Sometimes I have trouble telling which is which.

Definitely check with your doctor about it though.

years prior to the type of pain cris is describing from fibro i had muscle pain right around the joints.  it was difinitely different than the fibro pain (which is one of the worst types of pain i have ever felt).  kinda like the sharp pain that goes away.  it could be cause by the way you are using an affected joint or the way the joint moves etc etc.  talk to your doc.   Hi Cristene,

I think Wayney is right.  My pain started in my hips and remains constant
there, while kind of random everywhere else.  I have alot of pain in
the muscles surrounding my hips and I did some research and read
that this does occur.  I have been trying to find that info for you
but as things go I can't find it to save my life.  I'll try to find it later
when I get home.  If I come across it I'll post it here for you.
