Rashes and methotrexate | Arthritis Information

I have a rash, it's not shingles, amazingly enough, although I am still suspicious.

I am just treating it witha cortisone cream.  I'm hoping I can still take my MTX and that's why I haven't called my RD yet.  She may have different ideas.

Does anyone have experience with this.  Should   a garden variety rash interfere with my MTX?   I missed several doses this year and I don't want to miss anymore.

Thanks.
Hi Dotty - a rash can be a side effect of mtx, so you may want to check with your doctor.  Have you been taking mtx long and has this happened before?   I know what you mean about missing doses (or attempting to lower the dose) You feel fine at first and then things seem to creep up again and it can take longer to get that control back.

Take care
Cathy
Thanks fot the repl,  I do have a hard time rebounding after I stop taking MTX for a few weeks.

I just started placquinal and wonder if that may be the cause of my rash.
I did call my RD, she thinks it's the placquinal.  I was told not to take at least unyil our next appointment.

Thanks for the reply.
