Indeed! And, the study reinforces some personal experiences related within the pages of this RA forum.
Second, being a “real-life study”, the decision to replace
one TNFα antagonist with another depended
merely on the treating physician’s judgement.
However, our data, based on the application of the
EULAR response criteria, on the whole support
the possibility of trying another anti-TNFα in RA
patients failing the first place treatment.
In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that
RA patients may be successfully treated with another
TNFα antagonist especially those withdrawing
for secondary failure or adverse events.
Conversely, for patients stopping anti-TNFα treatment
due to primary failure, different biological
drugs, such as rituximab and abatacept, might offer
a greater chance of therapeutic success.
Interesting study and validated my decision made with my RD about going backwards on the TNF ladder.  I went from Enbrel to Humira to Remicade and then back to Humira with an increase in MXT and added Sulfasalzine with great results.  LindyI have printed this to read later......  getting my butt kicked at work today..   market is UP.. we are BUSY!!!  wooot!
