Just thought I'd share how the wedding plans are going

The final wedding dress fitting is next week and I'm pretty excited about that.  She is also doing a run through with her hair before the fitting, so that should be fun.  I'm taking the video camera....well, because I'm the mom

The invites are all out and we been receiving the response cards in a pretty steady stream.  I've got my spreadsheets all set up and I feel pretty good about that too.

My middle daughter and I have been working on the programs and the seating chart.  Much more work than I originally thought, but I'm having fun....I enjoy this kind of thing and I've become a paper addict

Once September rolls around, we will be down to about 6 weeks.  Now if I can just get my husband to the tux store...all will be right with the world!

Lynn492009-08-10 07:15:01Sounds like fun! ENJOY!!!!!!!I love weddings!!!

Enjoy as best you can!!
Lynn! You mention a tux, what will the mother of the bride be wearing? Something classical? A fun frock, a simply gorgeous taffeta, or a wonderfully innovative haute couture creation?

It is so wonderful to have you share your fun! Thank you. Shug

The mother of the bride(aka the MOB) is wearing a dress....Which, if you know me, is quite shocking

The dress is a deep eggplant in color and it is tea length.  It is very simple, tank style with a sheer jacket with beaded detailing.  Nothing flashy, just pretty and classic....

It's the shoes that really are causing a conundrum for me.  I have now purchased three different pairs, that I all love...Hmmm......my shoe addiction is showing Classic, my first thought for you: eggplant, a colour that is in and of itself also classic and royal.

Yes, the conundrum of shoes. Have you nails painted in a complimentary colour and go barefooted! (Hmm, would we then have to address you as contessa?)Your dress sounds delious!  Planning weddings can be so much fun.  Your daughter is lucky to have you I say have a pair of shoes for the morning- afternoon and evening!Weddings are so much fun!  Glad you're able to enjoy this time with your daughter!I agree with wanttobe A long day is a must for three pairs of shoes. I hope some of them are comfortable. I have seen many a MOB that is barefoot by the time they get to the reception. I would rather see people ware comfortable shoes than here about how much there feet hurt. LOL As if I do not complain about my feet. My last public outing that lasted the entire day. I made sure my pain was under control. I wore stylish but comfortable shoes. I also had my cain in the car for a back up. Never needed it but I do not like public displays of saying ouch ohhhhhh ect if I can avoid it, sometimes I can not. I enjoy visiting with people on such an occasion. My mingling goes so much better as do my conversations when my shoes are outstanding and comfortable. All the women in heals always say I love your shoes you are so smart to ware something comfortable. They always say they wish they had worn something comfortable as there feet are killing them.

It sounds like it will be a wonderful event. I wish you a pain free time to enjoy the wonders of life and your daughters wedding.
Lynn....did you say before that your daughter and her fiance' are out of state?  If yes, I am doing the same thing you are.  My son is getting married on Oct. 2 and he and his bride both live in NC, with the wedding up here in MI.  Well, I can't really say the same thing, it is much less hectic for me.  This has been in the works for quite a while now and my dil has been able to come up a few to time to make decisions on what they want.
