80 Year Old Invents Product for Arthritic Hands | Arthritis Information

Hello,

My father, who is in his 80’s, invented a product for people with arthritic hands.

He invented an ice cube tray that allows you to remove one cube at a time.  By simply pushing the cube with your finger, the cube stands up.  You do not have to twist the tray.  You can take out each cube, one at a time.

We are a family run business in Ohio and manufacture and sell this item on the Internet.

Being that we are a small company, we rely heavily on word of mouth.

If you have a moment, please visit our website at http://www.MagicTouchIceTray.com

If you know of someone who could use our product, please refer them to our website.

Thank you,

Anthony

How about you send me one for free, I'll give it a try and give my honest input???

Those lovely hands pictured in the demonstration of the ice cube tray are not necessarily a good selling point.

I am sure it is costly to ship your product, but frankly your shipping rates seem exorbitant. However, like Phats ship me a pair without cost and I will give a honest appraisal of the product.
I don't think .50 is an outrageous price for shipping.  Amazon.com charges .99 to ship a single kitchen gadget (yes, I know they have a free shipping option for orders over ); A Pi ice cube tray from ThinkGeek.com sells for .99 + .59 shipping.

That being said, I am sick and tired of the SPAM buffet. See? that is what I get for not buying kitchen items except on sale from a catalog that offers free shipping every quarter.

Even a Kitchen Aid stand mixer shipped without cost.

Like you JR, I think that solicitations to buy!buy!buy! whatever the item are tacky, bad manners, and as other companies pay for advertising on this site, it at least on the fringe of dishonest.

OK, backing away from the keyboard and go back to my neutral corner... " You do not have to twist the tray."

Hmm........On the front of the package are the words,"TWIST TRAY - THEN PRESS THE ICE CUBE..."

good eye, cat!
I think that you probably have to twist the tray the first time you gather ice cubes after freezing, to loosen the cubes from the wells.  After they're loose you can push on one side and easily grab the opposite side that pops up.  With regular trays, unless the tray is twisted so that the wells deform and force the cube up above the top a bit, it's almost impossible to grab the cubes. how about hust using a normal tray and banging it off the bench to get cubes out like most people do
how about hust using a normal tray and banging it off the bench to get cubes out like most people do
1. Most (not all) folks here have RA (hence our participation on an RA forum)
2. Finger dexterity is an issue for many people here.  A simple push and pop is far easier than a bang, twist, etc.
Ice maker.......................
Ice maker.......................
No ice maker here.  I don't know what it is... but ice from automatic icemakers in home refrigerators always have a peculiar taste that I simply can't stand.
We have well water here, so the ice tastes pretty darn good
