This is a new one for me.  Anyone else get pain and stiffness in the hip flexor?  My disease is quite active right now and it seems to be getting me everywhere.  Thanks for your help.HI Jennifer, I know what you mean about getting it everywhere, I am not sure exactly where the hip flexor is but I get pain trying to lift my legs to step into the car or going up steps etc, I get really painful areas near the groin which I am told is coming from the hip, and also in the hip bursa areas, very painful to touch etc.  My jaw is very bad at present do you get pain there?  Best of luck to you on your journey and keep a journal, they come in very handy later on when you get asked lots of questions about your past RA probs and medicines etc.  Regards Janie.Hi Janie.  The hip flexor is right near the groin as you describe but it is in the front so it's painful to lift your legs to walk or get in and out of the car as you also descibed.  And yes I definitely gain pain in my jaw.  Some days I can't close my mouth completely- my teeth don't touch when I close my mouth.  My jaw joints are okay today but that doesn't mean they won't be inflamed and painful tomorrow! My jaw pain went away when I started taking my meds correctly especially the plaquenil suprisingly.  The hip is a major weight bearing joint. Arthritis loves this joint, the bigger the better. But, it does not forget the little ones.

Oh yes, I get the pain and stiffness in the hip flexors.  They are weak as heck now from huge doses of prednisone as well so that doesn't help.   I don't have hip pain anymore since I don't have my real hip joints anymore.  They were replaced several years ago and I have to say it was an excellent decision to have them done.

In fact, this flare has RA activity in some pretty weird places but most especially in the tendons of the left foot.  The one that runs right up alongside the ankle joint that connects to the lower leg is always swollen and hurts like the devil.
