Need some support from all of you | Arthritis Information

Hello.  It took me nearly 15 years to get the right diagnosis, PsA.  I am in soooooooooo much pain and I barely walk.  Did metho., off of it, liver functions too high, sulfasalizine and placquenil, not working.  Next, it's time for Enbrel.  I'm cautious about it, because I have suffered from chronic Lyme disease, which seems to under control at this time.

I'm a single mom w/two awesome boys, 10 and 11, one is homeschooled by me and the other is in school.

I used to be such a high-functioning person until all this hit -- and DID IT HIT ME HARD!  Found myself needing a wheelchair time to time because pain is off the chart -- every joint in my body and my fingers are starting to twist.  Lots of weight gain b/c I can't move -- ugh!

Anyone struggling w/severe fatigue and awful sleep problems with this?

Keep me in your prayers!  Thanks.
Hi Teenee, welcome to the ArthritisInsight forum. I dare say that most of us, whether our diagnosis is PsA or Ra or OA,  can empathize with the pain and difficulty in walking. I am so sorry you are suffering so.

Most of the conversation, discussion, and support takes place in/on the RA section of this site. I hope you will join us there! See you soon, best wishes, Shug
Spelunker2009-09-08 08:56:19following Shug's great welcome.. I wanted to add my Hello!!

Please join us in the RA section....  We surely can commiserate.......
I have been where you are!  In a wheelchair and on crutches with my doctor totally clueless as to why.  I was diagnosed with SLE  and had been doing fairly well with Plaquenil, Methotrexate, and Prednisone.  But then came this horrible rash and unbelievable pain everywhere.  PSA was finally, finally diagnosed and I started Embrel. I thought I would not be able to handle giving myself a shot so I chose the auto-inject method.  It worked so well for me.  At first I had to do the shot every week but it is now two years and I am using my Embrel  every other week.  Other than the fatigue from Lupus, I am feeling pretty good.  I have some occassional knee pain and stiffness in my hands and fingers.  But, all in all, I am amazed at how much better I feel.

The main pain with Embrel is the price!  My insurance pays 80% (after a battle).  The balance is  still pretty high. Once I got to every other week, my cost per month was cut in half.  Walmart mail order is the best price I have found.  It arrives the morning after I call in for a refill.

I need to be on my feet and active as I direct a Sweet Adeline chorus.  That requires a good bit of energy and stamina.  Singing has been proven to be good for your health. It keeps oxygen moving through your lungs and forces you to move those arms and legs. It also keeps your mind off your troubles.I was diagnosed with RA when I was 20 Im now 40 with 5 kids.  Long story short I am now in complete remission and off all meds including predisone, methatrexate, celebrex and anitobiotics.  I suffered for 15 yrs and have permanent damage.  I am now fully in remission.  E- mail me at JennyAaron2@hotmail.com and I'll tell u how to get this Juice called Mona vie that totally changed my life.   Jenny, with all due respect, your sales pitch is not only in poor taste as a response to Teenee's post, it is also crass, insensitive, and blatantly self-promoting. You, Jenny, posted in nearly every segment of the Arthritis Insight forum and that is SPAMMING at its most obvious.

I am sure that everyone who reads your testimonials are pleased that you found a way to remission, but proselytizing your money-making scheme reflects poorly on you and creates a sense that you lack veracity.

Pick four or five regular posters and send them a free supply of your product and allow them to post their responses to Mona Vie. For an adequate sampling of the products you tout as life-changing a free four month supply sent to the 4-5 participants would be a goodly start to verifying your claims and will give the rest of the posters on the AI site something to consider.

Cheers and best wishes.
