questions for y'all | Arthritis Information

Hey everyone, hope you all are doing ok. sorry i havnt been on in awhile ive been super busy and just dealing a lot with other issues.... my joints have had to sit on the back burner for a bit. the prednisone gave me a nice break.

i had my 4th infusion of remicade today-hopefully now it will start to kick in.

ok but really for the questions. i got blood work results and i need your opinions. my doc never gives me a copy of my results which i hate, today while i was gettin my infusion i had the nurse get me a copy of my latest results. i had them check my thyroid....anyway a few wierd things. One,my free thryoxine level was just a tiny bit low. Does this mean anything? My TSH was completely normal, like 3.1, i know low thyroxine can mean hypothyrodism, but my TSH isnt elevated at all. can anyone make sense of this for me? I guess I will ask her to go further with the thyroid stuff/i could see if i can see an endo....

my electrolyes were also low-which doesnt suprise me as i am always dizzy, and I dont retain fluids. im always craving and eating salt, but it just goes right through me,

i was researching a little and thought maybe it has something to do with my adrenal glands? some sort of adrenal insuficiancy...i know this can cause thyroid stuff, elextrolye imbalance and so many other things that i already have I dunno i feel like a hypochnodriac looking for more diagnosises but still i feel like it could be a possibility....what do you all think? How have you been doing since starting the Remicade? Is it helping you? Any improvements?

I have no idea about your bloodwork results. I too have to ask the nurse for a copy of my lastest bloodwork when I go in for my infusions. When I remember that is.
...what do you all think?
I think that if you suspect an adrenal insufficiency that you get it checked out sooner rather than later. As I am certain you know, a chronic adrenal insufficiency can lead to an adrenal crisis, a complication no one wants for anyone to experience.

Is your blood urea nitrogen and creatinine ration within normal limits? What about your cortisol levels? If I remember correctly you recently were taking prednisone, did your symptoms abate while taking corticosteroids?

Please keep us updated. Best wishes, Shug
I felt great on prednisone......

as far as the remicade working, im really not sure. its hard to tell since ive been on prednisone, but i just had my 4th infusion so hopefully ill notice a difference soon!It may be because you are taking prednisone and that slows/shuts down the adrenal glands. Do you have an endocrinologist? Because these questions are more suited for one. Maybe ask your rheumy? If it's because of the prednisone then he should know that.

Hope you feel better!well all this bloodwork stuff has been consistant over the past 6 months or more....i used to have an endocronolgist, maybe i should get a new one-and adult one :)Yes, you should and (repeating myself) sooner rather than later.
