"USDA approved nutritional supplement" just means it probably won't kill you.

The Snickers bar I ate today is USDA-approved but I don't expect it to cure anything except a hunger pang (and even then we all know it ain't the best way to treat that ailment!).
Gee, Jasmine.......I had NO IDEA that Snickers was used to treat RA?? Unbelievable....... Do me a favor and tell me ONE OTHER nutritional supplement with USDA approval. Good luck with that, because there isn't one!Heh... Jas, that was funny... Is MilkyWay USDA approved? Because I am pretty sure it shouldn't be...

Eric, really, don't take yourself so seriously... No need to fight. People around here are leery (and rightly so) of people who come around peddling stuff... This isn't what this board is for. Personally, I couldn't care less what your selling. But a lot of these people are going through a lot and the last thing they need is testimonials about how good a product is from someone who has a vested interest in it sellling. I am of course assuming that you don't sell it out of the goodness of your heart and do it for profit.  That kind of makes your testimonial a bit less convincing...
you've used every tactic they teach you in spamming 101....guess what we are on to you...that's life...so get over this false indignation and move onOK, Eric. I didn't say anything about your first post. But now you come on here looking for a fight? With a bunch of sick people. Do you think anyone's going to buy from you now?

Please, enlighten me more about what specifically it did for your friend. How did it make her RA better. Did it cure her?
"USDA approved nutritional supplement" just means it probably won't kill you.

I don't know about that JR...I remember after my first knee replacement one early morning debating whether to take a pain pill or have a snickers...the snickers won!!Ya know, Eric, you are a spammer.  If you weren't, you would have a legit ad on the left side of this page... but I suppose it is cheaper to do it your way.  Also, you wouldn't come here offering "help" by trying to sell something, you would come here and offer genuine support, which you have not done.

We are people with a life threatening disease... if your supplement was all it was cracked up to be, it would be in ALL the journals and news releases for RA.  "Cure for RA at last!" the headlines would read.  But it is not a cure.  It must not even be that good of a supplement because if it were, my doctor would have said "Spend your disability check on this!!!"

I place you in the group with sleazy insurance salesmen, slick car salesmen and nasty politicians.  If you want to push your over priced junk... take out an add or go find well people to pick on or perhaps a trashy street corner where you can open your coat and "Pssssst" at passers by.

Wanna fight?  Bring it, loser!  Other wise, beat it!  We don't want your kind here!

Waddie
Buckeye, I opted for both...

Hey, isn't Zoe that MLM company? I think my ex brother in law is doing it. It's like his 5th different MLM. He's not a quick study...

You're killin' me.  Since when did the USDA approve medical treatments?
Welcome ericv. Let me familiarize you with AI. Think of this place as a giant spider web with all kinds of black widows living in it. You will soon find out which ones are most venomous and you want to stay away from them. Most of these spiders don't take vitamins or any other nutritional supplement. They rely on the pharmaceuticals. If you come here the first of the month, they are toting a fresh supply of oxycontin so you may find them in a better frame of mind. But if you wait until the end of the month, watch out, the oxy is running short and they will kill the first intruder who enters their web. Just a warning. Eric VanNostran..... hmmmm.... sounds familiar. Would you by any chance be related to the world renoun Dr. Martin VanNostran? Lorster, you are REALLY good at that; you should write self-help books!

Eric, is >>THIS<< you? However do you find the time to teach, raise a family, be a husband, write a blog on how to be an internet guru and then still have the time and energy to offer to fight with a RA discussion group.

Maybe we have all misjudged the wonders of his product...meanwhile, please pass the candy bars.
Lorster, I got a good laugh from that one!!  I am on Oxycontin and hope you are not referring to me but whatever!  Its a good painkiller and I thank God for it, thank God we get it for free here once we reach our copay, so I usually don't run out, and for those of you that do, that is terrible, I really do feel for you.  Janie. Lorster, that's not really fair. Is it? Sure some people use oxycontin because they have to for the pain, but are you suggesting that it's the driving force of their personality? I mean, if you have no need for pain killers, then I am extremely happy for you. We aren't all so lucky. As for our good friend Eric here, you can't blame people too much for disliking him right off the bat. He just came in telling us about this great product that will enhance our little RA filled lives and guess what? He just happens to sell it. Now, from what I saw, he wasn't overly pushy. So I have no problem with him, not too much of one. But I have had so many well-meaning people tell about how XXXXX will help my RA or even cure me. Anything from juices, to supplements, to exercise, to diets, to ... you get the idea. All these fantastic solutions to the RA problem and my Rheumy has never heard of it. I know, what does my Rheumy know? He's just the person I trust with my treatment.... So when another one comes around and not only does he pitch it, he's actually selling it... You get the picture... I don't care what he's selling and I don't really care if he sticks around or not... I do care that he upsets people that come here for support or to bitch at each other or just for the simple comfort of knowing that they're not alone in their suffering.... Do I make sense?

Hope all is well with you, Lorster. And everyone else of course... I enjoy this board, even if it's not the most peaceful place on earth. I am one of those that come around for the last reason. I do not share my suffering, but I do commiserate and I do draw hope from the ones that have managed to live a productive life with RA for far longer periods of time then I....
I thought you turned over a new leaf and said you weren't going to do this anymore?  What about the amnesty pledge you signed?

Perfect sense. Many of us, if not most of us would gladly pay the price for such a miraculous turn-about as experienced by Eric's friend and families. Although I have not tried his product specifically I have tried numerous others as well as a host of supplements/vitamins and dietary typing. Nada, zilch, zip...not too long ago right here on AI someone told me that my problem was that I did not love myself enough to heal myself, but that his product would do so.

Skeptical? absolutely. Cynical? in every direction. Unconvinced? utterly.

It's a big tip-off when sites for these "miracle cures" are first and foremost selling MLM opportunities... and there is little to no real information on the "product." No Janie. I was not referring to you or most others on this board actually. I think there is a place in this world for oxy. I have used it myself and have been thankful for its pain relief. Actually, it was just my weird sense of humor. The first and last time I had oxycodone was for a severe corneal abrasion.  It took care of the pain... but made me so disoriented I fell over and hit my head on a table, resulting in 30+ stitches... and no oxycodone, hydrocodone, naproxen, etc due to the concussion. JasmineRain2009-08-20 12:59:45
That is BS and you know it.

Lorster, I do hope you are kidding... because I would then look at what you wrote and think that perhaps you were having an off day... or just maybe, you let your fingers fly across the key board, not really considering how what you posted might hurt others, hitting 'Post Reply' before you had actually read what you had written.  That would explain loads.

I really must assume I am one of the varied kinds of spiders, living in the giant web of AI, as I don't possibly see how such a broad, sweeping statement excludes any one here... you didn't mention exceptions nor say "...except Waddie,"  but rather implied all AI members were spiders sucking down oxy.  Also, I did "attack" ericv, I was acting spider-like according to your description.

I had read his previous post and took no offence.  But, when he posted Ok....Let's fight!! in huge, bold letters, spewing his garbage while I am facing what I am and so many others here are immersed in their own painful battles... well, it was the last straw for me.  Please, Lorster and ericv, do not mistake this as an apology for my behavior - it is not one - and do not hold you breath, one is not coming.

FYI to you and ericv... I don't take oxy or any other medication, though I probably will be on considerable pain medication after my upcoming surgery and the healing process to come.  This process will, no doubt, be compounded by the RA pain, having to be off all meds and the supplements I take.  (Yes, I do take supplements)  I also have many friends here on oxy or other meds for pain because it is part of their therapy prescribed by there Phsysicans.  Surely, you are not implying the pain meds aren't neccessary?  And the magic juice will indeed cure all, wiping the pain and years of damage done to joints?

My issue with ericv's last post is exactly what I stated.  He is preying on the desperate hopes of very ill people and it is disgusting!  If I have offended... well, I really don't give a damn.

Maybe the two of you should actually attempt to offer a litte support then, maybe, you might understand the strong reaction to ericv's ad campaign and to his response.

I laughed as well I for one do not understand why everyone has to attack someone who comes on here to tell about something that has helped someone.  Have you all looked at the video?  This juice is all natural, no chemicals, no preservatives.

Ok, Eric is a representative, of course he wants to sell his product, that is clear.  Unfortunately they do not ship overseas but I do plan to order it anyway.  I want to try it.

You all so easily take pills with terrible side effects with no problems.  But a juice which is all natural you have a problem with and will fight against to your last breath.  I for one have had enough of swallowing a handful of pills each morning and still having to take a cab to get to my first morning client.

If you all want to attack me or call me a spammer, by all means go ahead.  I am used to the attacks especially after the whole antibiotic episode.

You know of course, that you are speaking in generalities.... I don't take any pills that have terrible side effects.
I'm sorry if you do, but please don't assume that everyone here has the same issues with the meds that you do.

Oh, and for the record.  I take Rituxan  ( my last set of infusions was in October 2008), Allegra and Vicodin for AVN....Not exactly a handful of pills Maria.... you would feel better perhaps if you followed an advised protocol (no matter what it is...( AP, MTX, biologicals, etc.) The meds don't work fast.  It takes time.  You've said you're flaring and having such a hard time because you don't take anything........  Please see an RD and let him/her advise you toward the weapons you need.....  Please.
Maria.... you would feel better perhaps if you followed an advised protocol (no matter what it is...( AP, MTX, biologicals, etc.) The meds don't work fast.  It takes time.  You've said you're flaring and having such a hard time because you don't take anything........  Please see an RD and let him/her advise you toward the weapons you need.....  Please.
I am going to see a new rheumy the 27th of August Babs, I just have given up hope.  I am in pain, I cant walk without being in pain, I am just tired of RA.  I didnt mean to imply that all of you take handful of pills, far from that.  I am just wondering what it will take to get into remission or at least have less pain and at this point I am willing to try anything.

I got my blood results yesterday and my leukocytes were elevated, my red blood cells point to the fact that I may be anemic, I have not been to a rheumy in over 2 years and I guess I am scared.

I know this guy is a salesman, I know he is preying on us because we are in pain.  I am just one of the gullible ones I guess.

Sorry if I offended anyone with my post.

Maria
Maria, I am sorry you are in so much pain. I admit that with your history of RA that you have not been seeing a rheumatologist regularly whether you were being treated by CAM or not was shocking to me.

I am willing to admit that part of my shock is based on my own history and experiences with under-controlled inflammation from RA and the stories that have been shared on this forum from others who suffer the ravages of under-treated, under-managed, and under-controlled disease.

IIRC you posted that you had stopped your most recent treatment as your boyfriend felt it was affecting him. Knowing how judgmental it sounds and how out-of-order it may be, in that situation I would have stopped seeing the boyfriend rather than risk the flare that you now find yourself in.

I send you all my best wishes for a speedy resolution, tight control, and eventually remission.

Cheers, Shug

Although not a black widow, >>THIS<< might prove as entertaining as the testimonials----or not.I found it to be fascinating. Hello all...I come in here quite a lot to read what others have experienced, have offered support, and always keep each and every one of you in my prayers every day that the pain will one day go away for you and me. I have learned a ton from each and every one of you..but this thread is just embarrassing. You all started out blasting the original poster and then turned on one another. Unless I missed it, the original poster hasn't posted since the 1st page! We are here for support and encouragement and to help others just make it through one day at a time...not for this. This is just sad. Buy the product, don't buy the product, using narcotics or not...at the end of the day we are all out for the same thing. Less pain and longer life. I am sad for this thread and how it has divided you.
