OT: My big news | Arthritis Information

As most of you know, I have two sons. My older son has been spending the school year in TX with his father. DH and I moved to CO during Kindergarten and I didn't want to pull him out and take him somewhere unknown with no family but us. So I made the sacrifice to leave him since it was in his best interest. 1st and 2nd grade we were not in good school districts at all so again it was best for him to remain in TX.

Now we've moved to an awesome area with a well-praised school less than a mile away and....

HE'S GOING TO 3RD GRADE IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!

I'm so thrilled!!! Being here will also give him the opportunity to attend school without being medicated. Previously, he was diagnosed with ADHD which I feel is a copout diagnosis and firmly believe he does not have it and was medicated during school hours.

My ex had no choice because he couldn't miss work every time a disciplinary issue arose and the school basically forced it (medicate or take him elsewhere). I was totally against the medication from the start, but being so far away I was helpless. I couldn't correct the mistakes being long distance. Talking on the phone to your child only does so much, you know?

NOW - he can go to school and be the best kid he can be, totally being himself and not the dulled down version! And if there are any issues that arise, I am right around the corner to set it straight. :)   I feel he's going to have more structure, direction, consistent discipline and as he would say, "Mom is bossy." Damn straight! He is going to learn how to be accountable for his actions because I believe accountability is a must have quality.

So that is my extraordinary news for the day. DH, big brother, baby brother and I are ecstatic. I feel complete now!  :o)
I am happy to hear your good news! Happy your son is home with his mommy! I know how you must have missed him. I miss my kids when they go over to the neighbors house for a few house. I keep asking hubby when will they be home?

I hope the school year goes GREAT for him!
