I am going to see a new rheumy the 27th of August Babs, I just have given up hope.  I am in pain, I cant walk without being in pain, I am just tired of RA.  I didnt mean to imply that all of you take handful of pills, far from that.  I am just wondering what it will take to get into remission or at least have less pain and at this point I am willing to try anything. I got my blood results yesterday and my leukocytes were elevated, my red blood cells point to the fact that I may be anemic, I have not been to a rheumy in over 2 years and I guess I am scared.
Hi! I am hoping your appointment went well and that you came away with a treatment plan and that your pain and disability will soon be controlled.

Best wishes, Shug
Hi Shug!

Thanks for asking! The appointment went ok, the doctor was kind of stiff and cold and when I asked about biologics and other treatments he wasnt too informed.  He gave me a systemic cortisone shot and told me to rest that day and to continue with my meds like before and come back the beginning of next year which I dont plan on doing.  My blood tests are ok he says they are normal for someone with RA.

I fortunately found a private doctor who I called and he actually answered the phone and he sounds very nice and he told me to call back on the 8th of September for an appointment because he is on vacation.

So that is how it went. Since going back on my meds I have been feeling a little better actually I had already been feeling better before I saw the doctor.

Thanks again!
I like that you're going to see someone else on 9/8......  if the first isn't a good fit, try on another!!
But you need to take your meds, Maria..

I agree with Babs, sometimes it takes more than a few to find a fit.

Knowing that I am repeating myself, it is vitally important to have at least some control over the ravages of inflammation. It is the inflammation of RA that can "get you". Over the last few months several members have posted of the extra-articular damage that under-controlled RA inflammation has brought about. It pains me that anyone might suffer from those same damages.

Although the conversation became convoluted at times and the point was blunted the discussion >>HERE<< was, at least for me, enlightening.

I echo Babs: take your medication!
