new, mtx,ibuprofen,folic acid | Arthritis Information

Hi,

I am new to message boards.. I don't see anyone taking ibuprofen with mtx. I currently take 600mg four times a day(with meals) along with folic acid and 25mg mtx once a week. I have been taking this for 2 1/2 years, but I feel the swelling is starting to creep back. Any information or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank You.

Hi! And welcome I am on Mtx 15 mg. a week and I am taking ibuprofen 800mg. 3 times a day to help with pain. I am on Protonix to help with my stomack to. Goodluck!!! Take Care! Paul

I would suggest another DMARD in conjunction with your MXT. I use Humira and MTX and do use IUB as needed....but once you're RA is under control you won't need that much IUB or any other pain meds.

Ask your doctor about maybe adding a biologic
