PMR receiving too much credit | Arthritis Information

I wrote in 2007 about my vacation to Mexico and how I suffered terribly the last two days with the worst pain (except for the birth of my children).  This pain came out of no where and I would later discribe it as contractions....the most painful contractions.  I arrived home, went to bed and the next morning and until three days ago have not experienced that pain again.

I mentioned this to my Rhuemy after returning home and he said that it wasn't PMR although many of you as did I thought that it was and was typical of PMR.
Thursday I woke with this familiar pain on my right rib area and by noon it was a full blown agonizing pain that didn't let up until early the next morning.......and then it was gone.  Friday I felt back to normal, worked in the yard, played with my dogs, etc., a normal lovely day.
Saturday the pain started all over again, but this time I went to Urgent Care, gave a urine sample and was told to go directly to the hospital.  Another urine sample, CAT Scan and waited for the doctor to give me the diagnosis............I was passing a Kidney Stone!
How often have I had a pain and thought it was just PMR?   JUST PMR.  This has been a good lesson for me.
Hi Susan, you are so right. We do blame PMR for every ache and pain. But a kidney stone OUCH!! I hope you have no more to pass!
A good lesson for us all to take notice!
My husband has had quite a few bouts with these and he is always in the most dreadful pain and not being able to pass it , has required surgery.
Hope you are feeling okay now?
