Hi, I’m Deniese, 25 and I’ve had this pain on my right knee for some time now but it comes and it goes so I didn’t really paid much attention to it.  But since last week, the pain seems to have lasted longer and it’s affecting my left knee.  The pain is felt when I try to sit down or when I try to stand up after being seated for a few minutes.  It just hurts so bad.  I already talked to a doctor and the xray results show that I don’t have arthritis or something like that.  I’m to see another doctor for another opinion but do you have any idea that you can share on what this might be?  Thanks. I agree that you see another doctor.  Sometimes what one doctor can see, the others can’t.  That’s what happened to my mom.  Anyway, what are you taking for the pain?  My mom takes tramadol and she says it’s really helping her get through the day and make it more manageable.  You might want to ask your doctor about that too.  I wish you luck.  [QUOTE=rockmysoul]Hi, I’m Deniese, 25 and I’ve had this pain on my right knee for some time now but it comes and it goes so I didn’t really paid much attention to it.  But since last week, the pain seems to have lasted longer and it’s affecting my left knee.  The pain is felt when I try to sit down or when I try to stand up after being seated for a few minutes.  It just hurts so bad. Pain is our body's way of alerting us that something is amiss. While many of us overlook or minimize pain, that is not always the best.

There are any number of problems that can cause knee pain. It is nearly impossible to make an educated guess concerning such problems. A physician, with access to your x-rays, a hands-on physical examination, and a face-to-face discussion will be of more benefit that anyone on a forum guessing about what your problem may be.

Good luck.
the knee has a bunch of soft tissue that can't be visualized on x-ray. You may need a more sophisticated test to show the problem. Be sure you are going to an orthopedic doctor.Sometimes knee pain can be associated with weight gain. Have you gained weight recently? The more a person weighs the more the knees have to work to support them. If you're twenty pounds over weight and you also tend to carry heavy items on a regular basis (say you carry heavy groceries home on a regular basis) That could generate knee pain. This is a problem my mother had but once she lost twenty pounds her knees stopped hurting.
