Hi

My doctor has advised me not to fly, are we at a higher risk?, has anyone been on a long haul flight and had any probs. Thanks

I don't know how it relates to RA or not.  I have a friend that is quite young that got DVT from a flight overseas.  She is young and is a runner.  I think the birth control she was on put her at risk, if I recall.  If you are on hormone therapy of some sort, such as prednisone, that could be why.  I would research it heavily because DVT is serious business and very dangerous. What is DVT?

Hi

DVT is deep vein thrombosis, blood clots, it can be very dangerous if they travel to your heart.

When flying with any imflammatory disease I would thing that pressure would or could change things in your body. i have not been dx'd as yet but have the problems of RA, Last year I went from Joplin, Mo to Florida, I was very nervious on the flight, Had a constant headach and then after I arrived I had flares because of the different climate and soroundings.
