Advice and a little bit of a rant | Arthritis Information

Ok, so my neighbors son invited my son to spend the night. Today, after spending all night and all day there, my son informs me that his mom has been sick for two days and now he is feeling ill. What mom invites a child into a home so they can get sick?  And she KNOWS I am on Enbrel and have a low immune system...(HUH?)

So, my son is running a low grade fever tonight...my question is: I am supposed to take my Enbrel shot this evening. Should I take it and risk getting sicker when it makes it way to me, or should I wait?
You should probably call your rheumy in the morning.

That being said...I would probably take the shot.  But, I don't always follow dr. orders to the letter.  My logic being-I teach middle school and have a son in Kindergarten.  When am I not surrounded my germs???

But...I would be annoyed at the other parent.  Common Sense People!
I'd take it. I've got 7 kids and they've got 3 million friends. If I didn't take my shot everytime someone was sick....I'd still be an injection virgin.
Here's hoping it doesn't spread to you!
