Trying not to get too concerned... | Arthritis Information

So, I was taking a shower this morning, and I found a lump in my breast.

Great.....

I have an appointment on Thursday morning.

I know it is probably nothing. I am pretty young, but it does run through my family.Hi Rebecca,

Try not to worry (I know , easier said than done) . I found one and it was only a cyst that went away on its own so maybe it's nothing to worry about.  Hope everything turns out well for you!

Hi Roccky, darn, just what you don't need.  I just went through this in May.  Ended up having an ultrasound of my breast which was negative.  I had an anxious month waiting for all the appts for the tests and the results.  It's natural to have anxiety about this and hopefully it will turn out AOK!  LindyHi Rebecca - just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope this turns out to be nothing.  Stay strong.

Know that I am thinking of you..

It will probably be a cyst, or an emerging zit, or a bit of fibrous tissue you didn't notice before..

Eat chocolate til thursday
Eat chocolate...always a good prescription :)

Thanks for your kind thoughts....Might as well add that my son is having surgery on the 7th. It is for a hernia that appeared last month. He's five, so he isn't nervous really. The dr. sent us home with a bunch of cute books... Franklin Goes to the Hospital, Curious George Goes to the Dr. and so on...

So, I am glad I got the appointment scheduled for Thursday. In between taking 3 days off for Nathan's surgery, going to Duke on the 30th, this is not another appt. that I was expecting.

My friend mentioned that I should go out and buy a lottery ticket. Really test how the luck is working!

Thanks for letting me get out the frustration. Need to get the little guy into bed. He is running around in a Michael Phelps shirt that a friend of mine gave him. He has been swimming since he was 3 and has just joined the YMCA winter team. Loves it!   There is nothing funnier than watching a 5yr. old try to do a racing start of the blocks! Kinda like a well planned belly flop! rocckyd2009-09-22 17:42:22I went through this a few years back as well.  It was a scary time for me, but turned out ok.
Keeping you and your son in my thoughts and prayers, Rebecca!
Rebecca, hang on to that dollar you would spend on the lotto so you will have more money to buy chocolate (money definitely better spent!)

I will be thinking of you and Nathan and I just know everything will be good for you both!

Waddie  All my very best wishes for you and for that precious boy of yours. Shug Rebecca, you are in my thoughts. I had this too and  like so many it turned out to be a cyst. Its a worrying time but try not to let it dominate your life until you know for sure as it can make you sick with worry.
Those little book they give the kids for hospital are really helpful, I'm sure Nathan will be great.
Take care

Hoping you received good news this morning and that the lump is nothing to be concerned about.  Please let us know how you are doing.Appointment is over and I am back with the middle schoolers.  I have to go back on Monday for an ultrasound.  I am pretty stressed mainly due to the days and time off.  I'll have to leave early on Monday, Wed. I go back down to Duke, and the next week I am out three days for Nathan's surgery.

Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts!I haven't been on the board much and today I saw your post.  I am sending positive thoughts your way!  HGLooking for updates today. Hope everything will turn out to be fine.

My OB found a lump during on eof my exams a couple years ago. She sent me for a mamogram and then they sent me for an ultrasound. Turned out to be nothing. Hope that will be the case for you too.
Hoping and praying that you got good news.I am home...

Had my first mammogram and ultrasound.  Dr. says that she can feel what I felt but didn't see anything to really biopsy on the ultrasound.  So...good news.  I go back in 6months for round two.  She did say that the right one looks different than the left on the mammogram which can be concerning, but she doesn't have a baseline one to compare it too.  So, that is what she will do in 6 months.  If I feel anything between now and then, she wants me back.

So...not too bad :)
Phew! I bet you are relieved! Glad the news was promising! [QUOTE=rocckyd]I am home... Glad things went well. I went threw this a few years back. My doctor thought he found something. Then the ultra sound found something. Long story short it was a cyst.

Hopefully it disappears before the 6 month mark or you go back and exactly the same........keep us updated.
