red59dragon2001@yaho2009-12-05 08:06:15I definitely used to use cold for my gout attacks. Cold is used for soft tissue injuries to reduce inflammation, and gout pain is caused by inflammation of the aggravated tissues.

When I first got gout I actually thought I had a soft tissue injury, so treated it as such. It really helped with the swelling, and other than that it just felt nice and soothing!  Apart from the fact that I had to touch my foot while applying the treatment that is!

I use heat to reduce my pain  Didn't know it was the other way around
