how do you all feel about getting the reg. flu shot? opinions on why you are getting it and why you are not, and any past experiences with it and pmr and prednisone. You might want to post your question in the Rheumatoid Arthritis section....that's where most of the traffic seems to be.

well, i decided to get the flu shot, so i will see if there are any effects from it.............now i don't know about the swine flu vaccine, will wait and see any reports on it.  i have never been a fan of getting the flue shots, but now i think it is best i have any protection i can get.I had my seasonal flu shot a couple of weeks ago.  No reaction to the shot.  Now we're waiting for the H1N1 vaccine.  That one is probably pretty important, except that we older folks may have antibodies already because of exposure to Asiatic Flu and Hong Kong Flu back in the day....I had a flu shot this last Monday and that afternoon and all day Tuesday I was feeling more than usual PMR pain. I was also extremely tired. I rested but continued my walking and cycling routine and this afternoon I am much better.

That was an usual two days and I don't know if the flu shot was the cause, but I'm still glad I had the shot. With a lowered immune system I feel like I need all the help I can get. I didn't react this way last year when I had the flu shot.

I'm not sure if I'll get the H1N1 (swine) flu shot. Lots of controversy about it right now. I'm just going to wait and see on that one.Hi Everyone...I just finished reading a very good piece about the flu shot/shots and thought I would pass the information on.  I have gotten the flu shot for the past five years and I am now rethinking the issue.  I hope you can get something out of this.

If you google Thimerasol in flu shots/vaccines/swine flu shots you will find articles on both sides of the argumemt or www,cdc.gov/FLU/ABOUT/QA/thimerosal.htm.
