What can I do? Any ideas | Arthritis Information

I have arthritis 33 plus years.  Been a nurse 22 yrs. .my legs are busted up from hospital work.  Now my hands and wrists are killing me from all the paperwork and chart lifting. I began lifting upper body weights again. It may help.  What then! I am only 38 yrs old.  I take MTX, Plaquenil, Daypro  and have been in remission for 10 yrs or more. The weights will help. Start slow and work your way up. I could barely lift any weight at all. I did so little at first I thought it might be a waste of time. I get super bad tendonitis in my shoulder so sometimes can not lift a coffee pot. It was nice to build the strength back up in my arms.

Is this all something new? I mean you do not think you are flaring do you? Ware and tear can hurt your body after years of hard work. Maybe some wrist braces for sleeping could help. Good luck I hope you feel better.
Milly, I've recently been dealing with tendonitis in my fore shoulder into the bicep tendon.  Is this RA related?  I've lifted weights most of my adult life and this nonsense only started recently.  [QUOTE=jannabelle2001]  Now my hands and wrists are killing me from all the paperwork and chart lifting. I am not sure whether you "What then!" was a request for suggestion or not Thank you for the suggestions.  I do have supports but not splints.  I can not imagine my flare would be showing up only in my hands/wrists since I have RA  from my head to my toes.  Classically it all acts up when I flare.  I will look into typing aides for  sure!
