Arava & Hair Loss UPDATE | Arthritis Information

About a week ago, I posted that I was experiencing hair loss and I thought it was due to Arava.  I think I over-reacted and wanted to let everyone know; I would hate to add to the stress we all have over taking so many meds!  I went to my hairdresser who has known me (and my hair) for about ten years.  He said there had been no change in my hair.  The day I posted was the day I had washed my hair.  It had been four days (unusual to go that long) and my hairdresser said he thought I'd just had "four days of hair loss" all at once.  After that day, I have had hardly any hair in my brush.  He also said that his salon has found that people seem to have more hair loss at certain times of the year.  The bottom line.....I'M SORRY IF I CAUSED ANY ONE OF YOU MORE STRESS!  I have always had very thick hair (used to complain about it) and over the years it has become thinner.  This is probably due to the use of some of the drugs plus the fact that I am getting older!

Many of my friends (who are not on arthritis drugs are complaining of the same thing.  Wishing you all a good Sunday!

Sharon, thanks for posting an update, and I am glad your hair is doing alright.  I know exactly what you're talking about....these days I don't always feel up to showering every day and when I do wash my hair, the amount that comes out is ridiculous and it can be a little scary.  Plus that whole getting older thing....yeah, it snuck up on me. awww. thats' so good of you to come back and explain.
