I am going to start Remicade in a week.  there is very little i can find about it besides the makers web site.

any here use it?

Thanks

I've been on Remicade for about 4 months. The experience of getting it is no big deal,  quiet restful area, where you can read, watch tv, nap or talk.

The first infusion worked right away. The next two didn't really work. I am on it every month and it is working very well. Right now I'm 10 days since my last  infusion, and i feel excellent. Virtually no pain..maybe  after all day  up and around I'm achy.. but no real severe pain like I had before. Morning stiffness is gone.  Fatigue is gone.

If it continues to work like this I am going to be a very happy person.

I liked the down time when I received my infusions. I also liked chatting with the tech who administered it. I would bring a book and crosswords and just relax and settle in. They might need to administer benedryl with it because some people have an allergic reaction to it, so have someone available the first time to drive you home, because benedryl makes you drowsy. I thought Rem. worked okay. I liked Enbrel better. Now I'm on Humira, and I'm really liking that.

Thanks for the info.

it has been hard to get any info at all.

enbrel did not do it for me, i was given the choice od Humira or Remicade, and went with the remicade on a cost basis as it is fully covered by my insurance for a simple RD co-pay.

Thanks again

Think and hope that you find its just right for you.  I've had 3 infusions, and have had not side effects (I honestly dont' think so, anyway)  Hope it works for you, sometimes it doesn't and we have to try one of the others, I hope it stays good for me, I really welcome the downtime.  Don't really get to read or nap, because the others want to talk. lol,

PS: Kathy, so glad it's finally helping you!  Was really worried after your pm at the other place.  As far as I can tell it's helping me too.
