Allergy Season | Arthritis Information

I am always at my wits end this time of the year. Allergy pills, sprays, ABX. No relief. Well the right side of my head is feelling better. My left eye is swollen, my sinuses are throbbing, my left tonsil is swollen, my left ear is on fire. The end of day twelve on ABX.

My Dad always said it will frost soon. So it is going to frost Friday night. I do not know that it works that quickly. LOL Just something my Dad always said to me to give me hope I think. I do know that I am always miserable before the first frost that is for sure.

I just feel a little let down when I finish the first bottle of ABX and I am not in any better shape than when I started. Thanks to my dear old Dad I have a bit of hope.

Historicly I have always had bad flares in late October or November. This dates back several years. I used to have some sort of come and go condition prior to when my bloodwork showed positive RF. Pretty much the same thing just now it is all come and no go I guess. So I feel pretty certain that my allergies are not so good for my RA.

Actually it will do more than frost it is going to freeze Saturday. So it is sort of like a Holiday for me. My Dad used to take me to a reflexologist when I was a kid. It was always really nice to get my feet rubbed and took my mind off of my misery for awhile. Some kids wanted ponies others wanted video games. I just always wanted it to frost so I could go outside and play without getting sick.

Happy Frost Day everyone I hope you enjoy it as much as me.
Happy Frost Day Milly! Sorry you're feeling poorly, but hopefully things will turn around soon!Holy cow this sounds like the hell I suffer through starting in the fall and going until spring!  Ears plugged up, nose stuffy and runny no OTC meds help and even the saline nose rinse and vaporizers don't do a thing.  My only leftover option is allergy shots and they won't do them because of the fact that I take a BP medicine.  I tell you it really stinks but I'm glad to know I'm not alone with this.

What triggers yours?   I have no clue what mine is I just know when I was tested that it came back like level 4 for dust mites and two types of grass.  Since there is no grass in my house but plenty of dust, especially with everything closed up I'll assume that's it.   I guess just suffer and count the days to spring?

LOL Every kind of grass, trees lots of them. Ragweed and corn pollen are really the worst of it I believe. I was allergic to the allergy shots. My arm swelled up bad and I had to go to the hospital for shots. Then the shots are what triggered me being allergic to medicine. Can not even take an asprin any more because of it. So maybe you are not misssing anything by not taking the shots. We had first frost here in the Chi-town burbs last weekend.  While I really hate the cold weather, I hate allergy season more... and first frost is pretty much the beginning of the end of my allergy woes for the season.

I might turn on the upstairs heat this weekend - it's about 55F in my room right now.  Perfect for sleeping, but not so good for anything else (including getting out of bed in the morning!!!).
Well this year I am worried about my niece as well. Three bouts of bronchitis. What is going on with this poor little girl. Three different ABX. Some thought was that it was resistant to the first ABX. Well actually we watched her come down with it while she was on Keflex for a sinus infection.

Well I am beginning to think it is just allergy related. Or else she had the flu and it lowered her immune system? Her comment is that she is just really tired of all of this green stuff. I am really hoping that this will be her last bottle of ABX for bronchitis. Of course if it is allergies we will have to go threw it again next year so I guess I hope it isn't allergies.
