The jaw saga continues....again | Arthritis Information

So...saw my regular OS today. I just got a really strange vibe from the other OS. When I mentioned being on Pred. for the lungs and how it was helping the jaw, he said that was a good thing. I followed that up by saying that Pred. isn't good long term---and he asked why not? HUH???? He also mentioned that he was curious to see how this all worked out...thanks for the vote of confidence there doc.

So, my reg. dr. agreed with my opinion-the guy was a wierdo....

He looked at the jaw again today and is still not pleased-big surprise there. He has two ideas-to go back in like he did in Feb. but use a harder splint and to more agressive PT, or to visit his colleague in Richmond who does total and partial replacements. The problem is, everything scarred down so quickly before after the surgery. We need to prevent this from occuring again. I asked what the least drastic measure would be, and he said that it would be him going back in again. The plan is to do it over Christmas break---fun.

If there still isn't improvement, off to Richmond. I have to get an opening greater than 22mm.... rocckyd2009-10-12 17:21:36aww Rebecca I sure wish you could catch a break! I wish I had something to offer to you besides "I'm sorry" and "best wishes". I can only begin to understand the frustration you must experience every day.

Rocky, when your jaw is swollen does it also make you dizzy?  I have taken 3 dramamine tabs and I am still dizzy.  Guess I will have to break down and visit my PCP. Yes....very dizzy.  Especially when I try to look up.   Grocery shopping is quite an adventure---what with walking and trying to find products on the shelves.I know you are not looking forward to this ordeal, Rebecca, but I know you would love some relief and I sure hope this brings it for you.  I am sorry.  Know we will all be willing to listen and support in any way we can.

Rocky, mine is somewhat resolved.  I increased my prednisone for 3 days and I guess that did it.  It might have been my allergy because I started using saline nasal rinse at about the same time.  I hope that you are feeling better Rocky.
