Rebounding, anyone? | Arthritis Information

A friend emailed me all excited this morning.  She is researching finding a better quality rebounder (mini trampoline) and found all kinds of reports on the web that rebounding stimulates the lymphatic system and helps to move white blood cells out of the joints.  I'm just curious if any of my fellow RA sufferers have tried rebounding and have noticed any improvement.
I have two mini-trampolines; one in my bedroom and one in my office. I find them to be effect adjuncts to other forms of exercise.

There are any number of sites that guarantee extraordinary results using a "rebound system". While I have not notices any reproducible and astonishing results I have found trampoling a great way to increase my stamina and work-out while tied to the ever-present HD equipment...

The few times I've tried one of those I've come close to serious bodily damage.  I'm not the most graceful creature on this planet.  I'll stick with swimming - you can't fall off the pool.  I'm having trouble keeping my balance doing floor exercises. I have been doing an exercise show on TV and my stamina seems to be getting worse instead of better for some reason. I could see me bouncing off the trampoline and into the wall! Yes, yoga is hard especially the flow yoga, and for those of us with hand and wrist issues it can be a not so good idea.  Which is one of my personal tragedies, I love flow yoga and regularly attended classes at a studio, but since Enbrel stopped working my wrists can't tolerate it anymore.  I'm learning more about gentler Iyengar style yoga to at least keep spirits up but lately, walking and walking workouts have been my cup of tea.

I can't not exercise, before getting this disease I lifted weights regularly and had even considered competing.  I've found all kinds of ways to exercise and only rest on the really bad days.  Pilates has been a God-send, there are a lot of home videos that don't require much use of the hands or feet.  My goal is to have a reformer (Pilates machine) at home some day.
I used a rebounder back in the day!  Now, though, I just instinctively know "things" would bounce much higher than they aught, and probably continue to do so even after I stopped! Just throwing this out there- does anyone use exercise programs on TV? We have something called FIT TV and I use a program called Body Sculpting by Gilad. Anyone else know of this? It is my ankles that current present the most difficulty for me. A set of orthopædic boots and a continuous series of exercises for ankle strength and balance that can be found >>here<<.

I yearn for a walk in the sunshine and the air, however I do my best to be content with 'walking" round and round my room and then "walking" some more on the mini-trampoline.

I have found that since using the mini-trampoline regularly that my overall balance has improved; so, if for no other reason I will continue to pace on the tramp.

I have a lot of online friends who love Gilad!  I have over 100 exercise videos in my collection - probably over 150.  LOL, actually no, I don't have any Gilads but he sure is a hunk.  I have mostly Pilates, yoga and low impact type stuff, a little weight training for light weights. Yeah- he makes it a heck of a lot easier to get motivated to exercise! Great scenery!Wow, I don't know if I could handle rebounding. LOL  Right now I'm getting my exercise in the form of bike riding 2x a day (to/from school). It's starting to get a little difficult though. My knees feel like ace bandages are wrapped tightly around them. Adds a little bit of a challenge. ;)
