I’m feeling so spoil | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update all of you on my shoulder surgery. The day started at 3:30AM when my phone rang and the driver said that she was out front waiting for me. I still had to put on my shoes as I thought that they were going to pick me up at 4AM. As I walked down the sidewalk and got to the front of the building there was a black limo waiting for me. When we got to the surgery center the driver opened the door for me ansd escorted me to the waiting area. This waiting area looked like somebody's living room. The chairs were so cosy, that I stared to fall asleep. The rug on the floor was thick and soooo nice to walk on.
This place didn't make you feel like you we're a number.
After my sugery, I came home in a limo and again the driver was so helpful with getting me out and into my place.
My neighbors have been keeping a close eye on me and they make sure that I'm well stocked and still standing.
I have all this high tech stuff on me. I have a pain machine hooked up to me and this chair that moves my arm up and down. Thank God that I have Direct TV and can choose from over 220 channels. Have to sit in that chair for 6 hrs a day and let it do it's thing. The only problem is that my girls, cats, can't sit in my lap.
Now that my room mate came back from his business trip, I have someone who can make sure that I'm okay.
Have to go as my "special chair" is waiting for me to finish my last two hrs of therapy.

Wish that I could pack everybody up and bring them to Southern Cal. to enjoy the nice weather.Sounds like I'm dreaming,  hope everything keeps up this great

Hi Marisa,

I am so pleased to hear how well your shoulder surgery went and that you are doing great. Especially the part about being pampered with the MOVIE STAR luxury ride to and back from the hospital.  I bet that helped quiet some of the fear you may have been feeling, at the time.

What is the chair for and how does it work?  Looks like you had everything ready to "rock and roll".

Keep us posted, when you can, as to how you are doing...don't forget the box of chocolates with the 200 channel Direct TV ...Sit back and enjoy.

Got some more good news today. Had to go to the hand doc and he said that I was doing very well and was right on track with my recovery from my thumb arthroplasty and carpal tunnel surgery. Can't finish my hand therapy until the shoulder is better.
Now about this chair for my shoulder. It's a passive motion chair and it's used for improving your range of motion in the shoulder. Right now I'm working on the flex motion, raising my arm up and down. Each day I increase the degree of flex by 5 degrees. By the end of next week, I should be able to raise my arm or flex my arm up over my head. Today I'm up to a 95 degree angle.
The box of candy sounds mummy, but I can't eat it. Will be watching Survivor on Thursday.
I go to my new RA doc tomorrow and hopefully we can start getting my ankles back to looking like ankles. Plus it will be nice to see if he can get me on something different for the pain.

Take care and all the best,
Marisa
